Depends on equip, tome, buffs, etc.

    +2 yugo
    +2 ship

    +2/+3/+4 tome

    +7 item
    +3 excep

= pretty much maxing starting wis and putting all levelups in to have a prayer of hitting 42.

    18 + 5 levels ups + 3 class + 3 tome + 2 shrine + 2 yugo + 6 item + 3 exceptional = 42

Without 3 class enhancements you're going to need a +7 wis item (Epic Helm of the Mroranon), if you don't have any class enhancements you're going to need +7 item, +4 tome, and a litany or an alchemical or DDO stat potion unless I'm forgetting some bonus.

    May add in:
+1 Human/Helf can be had in adaptability/greater adaptability

btw, for the op alchemical is +2 tier II and would be not useful unless on the bow/star alchemy weapon itself.

I was actually thinking alchemical potions, totally forgot about crafting (constantly TRing so ML18-20 gear is fairly useless).

So yeah +2 alchemical water martial item and +7/litany/+4 tome would cover you without any class/racial wisdom enhancements.

Alchemy potions are pretty short-lived so had not crossed my mind...

To add to what has been listed, monk water stance will add 2-4 pts to wisdom. Assuming 11-12 levels of ranger and six or so of monk, it will be 2 from stance.

I suppose zen archery allowing bows as ki weapons allow the use of stance.

i hear it does (not confirmed) but there is a bug regening ki i hear

i know 42 wis procs a 4th arrow 40 does not , so im thinking is it worth trying to hard to hit 42 and if i should keep it 38

34 is decent and your next big break isn't till 42 but 44 is doable with yugo pots i hit 42 on my build without exceptional 2 or a +7 item atm

dont forget as a monk you'll be able to use water stance for +2, +3 or +4 wisdom, though +4 requires 18 monk iirc, so probably not feasable in a monk/ranger build.

Some theory in the 10k stars testing thread would indicate that DPS difference from 40 to 42 wisdom is exactly the same as any other difference.

This is the wisdom that I'm planning:
    Wis: 45 (16 base +4 levels +2 tome +4 enhancements +7 item +3 exceptional +2 alchemical +3 water stance +2 yugo +2 ship)

This lets me still have 42 wisdom when I swap to earth stance and gives some flexibility with gear. I'm hoping to get a +3 dex tome before I TR which will give me 5 level ups into wisdom for 46 total.

It's possible that I won't end up taking all of Ocean stance III, Monk Wisdom III and Adaptability: Wisdom as enhancement points are quite tight but it is possible iirc.
