    Default epic Brawling Gloves

    Ok,

So was in a ToD, and someone pulled aggro off Sally.
A couple folks spoke up and said that epic Brawling Gloves were bugged and would pull aggro from anyone, and everyone should remove them ...
Now this was a group of folks that have been playing awhile, but ...
Nothing on the forums that I have found, and it sounds fishy to me.

    Thoughts?

Used them everytime, never pulled aggro.

Then again my build is a bard and i shouldn't be able to do it.

Bugged aggro with the gloves has been claimed before here: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=361799

The consensus seems to have been that it was monks unaccustomed to the hate gen changes to earth stance that were blaming the gloves. For my own experience on a Melee FvS wearing Epic brawling gloves I never pulled aggro unless it was off of gimps that were woefully undergeared for the raid/epic, never seen any aggro unnaturally jump to monks (of course I don't know if they were wearing the gloves or not) in the raids/epics I run, and no one in my guild has reported any odd behavior with the gloves (other than the fact they split Ooze of course).

Yep, no funny business with hate, completely predictable aggro generation on my unarmed rogue who wears them. If I put on hate reduction I don't pull aggro, if I forget then I do.

I'm 99% certain it's stance. I wear epic brawlers exclusively and I'm either in wind stance or occasionally fire or earth, and earth stance is the only way I can pull aggro from a halfway-decent tank.

The only time i ever pulled agro from Harry as a monk, was in Earth stance with the Kyoshi set. I was not wearing my Gloves but the Fab Gauntlets for Alacrity. I was not wearing The Fab Bracers.
With Earth & Kyoshi, i was generating 85% threat. Combine that with the hits & the tank Only blocking, agro can be had.

I wear my Gloves in Air & have never taken agro from a tank when equipped in that way, mainly because as a Halfling light monk, my Str isn't my strong suit.

*Edit: And yes, I am aware that this topic is in regards to agro with Sulo... but as on my monk. Never fought Sulo, so i can't say on that part.

My monk wears epic brawling gloves full time...I don't steal aggro unless I want it. I think most monks just don't realize earth stance is pulling aggro. (If I want aggro, I go into grandmaster earth stance...only good tanks tend to easily keep aggro from a decent monk in grandmaster earth).

(That said, I haven't tested them on Suulo without tanking...I tend to keep aggro of Nytherios in part 2 of ToD, and that makes people put me on Suulo...and that toon hasn't been in VoD in a while.)

    Its not the gloves.

My monk is in wind stance full time, wearing the gloves full time. I've been the grasper in ToD and I like to use Horoth to build up the Ki needed to grasp everyone. (with tanks permission) I'll beat on Horoth for the entire fight to get Ki and never pull aggro from the main tank. This is with a Human with 28 or so str. Might be higher, I'm not online can I can't check easily.

I can see earth pulling aggro though. The increase is substantial and monks have a high rate of attack so it adds up.

Yes, its not the gloves, but the Earth IV stance which people forget increases threat.

BYOH. Know it, abide by it, or don't mess with those who do.

you know this same question was asked once before some months back.

Either way Unless a monk was in threat gear with the mnt stance I don't think it should be able to pull off a tank in the same gear. Unless the tank was missing hits every other, or not using his hate, or was under geared. All of which would suggest the monk might as well tank it.

Thanks for the confirmation. I suspected it was bs, but like I said, they were longtime players stating said bs, so thought I would check.
