We need a new gear slot. No?

I'm having a tough time slotting all the **** I need on my pajama tank. Therefore, everyone in the game needs a new gear slot.

But seriously forks, whadda ya think? This has prolly been mentioned before, but I haven't seen anything on it recently.


Secondly, what should it be? Shoulder guards? Ring 3? Earrings? Braclets? Nipple Piercings?

Or this??

No. MMO's being all about gear is an old concept that needs to go away. Why does DDO end game need to look the same as UO and EQ1?

I think that managing your slotting needs with limitations is key to keeping some sort of balance. Basically, I don't think anyone should be able to slot everything they want. Just like enhancements, I think we should need to pick and choose from a number of viable options to come up with what we feel works best for our situation. I'm not really against expanding the slots we already have, such as making some more interesting quivers, but adding a new slot? No. Precisely because it does make gearing limitations lighter, which I don't agree with. We've finally gotten to a point after 6 years where we have to make choices with gear rather than just putting on a "best in slot" item for each slot. Sure, we still have some clear winners for some slots, but we do have many more options than we have in the past. It's a welcome change in my opinion.

But otherwise it will be like that:
- a new slot is introduced, and cool gear for that.
- the power level increase, people start complain its too easy
- the HP of mobs is increased since why not
- We are back in base 0
IMHO the problem may be in number of stacking bonuses for armor (and the need to have it in last top 20) so to make effective tank you need it all.

My monk is drooling at the potential to wear any 2 of Icy Raiment, epic Frozen Tunic and epic Red Scale Robe. It's certainly an incredibly powerful feat, but we'd have to see how the rest of the 21-25 landscape looks like to know if this is completely broken in half or not. (my guess is that it is)

My tabletop group created this slot because its the only major body area not covered in some sort of magical item.


We also created codpiece and underwear slots but I kind of doubt Turbine would be down with that.
