    Default Companions

Can someone please direct me to the link that says that companions are glitching the party. I can't seem to locate it ;-)

    ~Thanks~

    Hey Guen,

I think this was a misleading post in the first place. I brought it up in a guild group asking about it's validity and the consensus was that neither devs nor anyone else in game could repro it.

I have no posting in either case, just thought I'd throw it out there and you can judge how much you trust Krieg, Cable and Shady

I'm just getting tired of pugs telling me to put away my companion. I know that I didn't spend a whole lot of $$ for someone to tell me what to do with my pet. So I want to see this so called post for myself. ;-) .....just saying lol

The only official glitches regarding companions are these.

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=150534

    Creature Companions

NEW: Creature companions rapidly teleport when their owners are swimming, flying, or using an elevator platform.
NEW: A creature companion will not wait for their first trick to complete before starting a second trick.
NEW: Inventory can appear to be hidden on a 2nd Creature Companion. These inventory items will display once a player switches back to their first Creature Companion and scrolls their inventory back to its default position.

Well I actually just found this, cause I obviously have nothing better to do at work.

    Companions:

    Companions
Companions currently block Ranged Attacks, such as Spells, Rune Arm discharges, and Arrows/Bolts. When any of the specified hit the pet, they'll simply discharge as if hitting a solid object, it'll also prevent AOE Buffs like Haste/Rage. (HERE)

Stinks when it sucks up a 5 tier charge on a rune arm or a fusillade. Yes, it can happen even if you have IPS =/.

Stinks worse when it was your OWN companion.

That explains what happened in one of my ToD's.

All but 2 people in the group got the Deathward, Circle, and Haste. One who didn't was the Horoth tank, and we didn't notice until he got drained.

Mainly I find critters frustrating in raids like lob where I’m
looking for the visual cue where the lob will land after jumping.
    (and many other similar situations)

Regular questing they are fine, but these things really mess
    with my situational awareness.

There should be an option to not see other people’s pets.

Yeah, they do screw up some things including mass spells and line of effects (rune arm shots for example).

So this says that it was mentioned by someone in group and then reported, (when you click on the here button ;-)) but has it been tested? I've yet to see this happen with my companion. Not trying to be a pain ;-) but as far as my little guy goes, until someone can prove that this is going to cause my group to wipe, I'm going to keep him lol. I may not get haste, but no worries I have pots. hahaha

it's pretty simple to test, line your companion up between yourself and velah, and carry on dpsÃ*ng through all inferno's

Companions are totally pay to win.

It's also fairly easy to line them up between yourself and the training dummy to prove that they do indeed have some sort of physics check blocking ranged attacks.

Horoth tank not getting a Deathward, and losing almost 350 health (8 levels plus the bonus HP from Stalwart), and a massive decrease in his saves?

DEVs should also change the name tag colour of the companions, it's so confusing with candy bags and other similar pickable objects.

This is the first I've heard of the pets affecting gameplay, or people being asked to dismiss them while in groups. I must admit I am rather attached to my Spidee he is good company when I am soloing, pikeing on the guild ship or doing inventory maintenence

I do find my own and other peoples pets rather visually distracting especially in larger groups or higher end content where you need to concentrate a bit more. So always dismiss mine and kinda wish everyone else would do the same then although probably wouldn't go so far as to request it. A toggle option show pets on/off would be very handy.

Meh, personally I unsummon for innitial buffs then resummon afterwords. It hurts me very little to find out that the ranged behind me missed 1 arrow.

LOL, I'm a horrible person I guess. Atleast he looks pretty though! Even if he took an arrow to the KNEE!
