Default 12Ftr/5Rgr/3Mnk Kensai AA Punchy Helf with FINISHERS!

This build is a similar to Dark Star's Helves Angel but has an extra level of monk for the light-based finishers. It'll be using wraps as its main source of DPS, but can still whip out a lit2 bow/eThornlord and manyshot (with slayers) for some added bursty goodness.

More explanatory notes after the build:

I've just included tomes/equipment that I've grinded out so far - key is that you make sure your stats even out.
    With the current gear:

Str will be at 40 in sun stance and can reach 58 with buffs (60 double madstoned).

Dex will be 25 - won't need it until you whip out your bow, in which case you should switch your gloves out to e-spectrals. That should get your dex to 26 and give you a bonus +2 to attack, resulting in a total bonus of +3 eThornlord will also help with any to-hit issues

Con will be 28 unbuffed in sun, you can jump into earth for an additional 2 con and hate gen (kinda handy if you want to keep aggro)

The rest of the stats don't do much for the build (yes I ate a +4 wis tome, it's included in my build, but you'll be fine without it). Oh I left my base wis at 13 because that way I can swap to Clr dilly if I feel so inclined.

I like this build because of its added versatility over a regular Helves Angel punchy punch build. My old build used to be a 12/6/2, so by taking this, I had to give up 1 Toughness and Precise Shot. But now I gain healing curse and 3 really handy monk finishers. HP-wise, you'll be sitting at just under 570 unbuffed. DPS-wise both builds output the exact same numbers.

For peeps who say giving up/not taking PS/IPS is bad for the build, please remember that this toon is primarily melee, it'll only whip out a bow when the big bad boss drops down

    Why greater weapon focus: bludgeoning?

If you're going for more than a splash of monk, you should have a look at some of the monk 6+ based builds out there, which add 10K Stars to the mix, which now works with bows if you have Zen Archery too.

This is very similar to my unarmed -- and armed -- "beastly archer" build.

Kensai fist pre-req. This is a melee build, with ranged capability as flavor and utility. Don't get me wrong though, she still stings when she whips out her bow

My guildy, SifuTam, has a 10k stars/manyshot monk - it works well, but I like my build better. Up close, and toe-to-toe, she melts epic mobs. Her ranged component is more so for versatility than for numbers. That being said, her manyshot dps is nothing to sneeze at either.
Both builds work well, but my preference is geared towards powersurge+haste boost+damage boost and then punching the living daylights out of whatever is standing in her way.

Nonono to get kensai II all you need is weapon focus, weapon spec., greater weapon spec.!

    That's why I asked, it's a wasted feat since I assume you don't need the +2 to-hit...

P.S.: as a side note, I would probably prefer the 12 fighter AA version over the 12 monk (although I'm 12 monk atm) because of higher dps. Not sure if it's gonna be 12fighter/6ranger/2monk or 12figther/7monk/1wizard (in this case, kensei on longbow since it has 10k stars and can spend most time shooting) or another split. But tier 3 stances and abundant step are veeery nice...especially abundant step...I hope I don't get addicted to it...

Hrmmmmmm I thought a pre-req for greater wep spec was greater wep focus - i'll have to throw my toon in the planner again if I don't need that feat! Thx for the head's up

Oh and if you're planning on 12/6/2 ftr/rgr/mnk, then I'd strongly suggest this 12/5/3 build simply for more versatility - same dps output, more things it can do As for 12/7/1, you'd be really pushing it feat-wise, plus you'd lose out on Ram's Might - nom nom nom nom.

My guildies are so in love with light monk goodness that I'm almost buying a +3 heart for my rogue

I approve of this build. It's good DPS, good support and playable as a tank if you don't have a dedicated one available.

I'll consider this split too. My concern was losing the 2 feats you get with ranger 6, if I can live without them I'll definitely go for fists of light and finishers

Zen Archery will stop you from becoming uncentered when you pull out the bow.

Without 10k stars, Zen archery is a waste of a feat. Being uncentered just means I lose 1 to-hit - which isn't a game breaker, considering I can use boosts, eThorn, eSpectrals and Shintao set to increase my to-hit.

Will you not get kicked out of stance and bleed ki?

Yes, but that's no big loss - Ki on this toon is used for light-finishers only, which is relatively inexpensive. A few secs in sun-stance regens the lost ki in no time.
