Default Seal of the Abbot on hard difficulty

Just completed my first abbot since U12 and we pulled a seal of the abbot in the chest even though we did it on hard.

Just thought I'd put it out there.

Did goggles for the first time too, good times.

not surprising, since it seems nearly everything in the releae notes about the raid changes is plain inaccurate, bugged and wrong.

    List:
    -Reaver Elite doesn't drop seals
-Abbot Elite "upgraded" loot is nerfed in many cases, and upgrading it doesn't "upgrade" it, it unnerfs it to the old version.. not only that, it doesnt do what the altar says. We just tested vile blasphemy:
    Old version: 3x charges
    New nerfed version: 1x charge
upgrade altar displays: 4x charge for upgrade.
Result of upgrade: old 3x charge version.
-VoD And Hound new "elite only" loot isnt elite only, also drops in hard.

    Old abbot/reaver loots not upgradable.

    Other undocumented mechanic changes:
-Abbot elite was massively buffed AGAIN (For those counting: This is the 842,182th time the abbot raid was changed) (properly scales with difficult now, which is good, but Old elite = New normal, and elites nearly 3 times harder. Given the meager upgrades and fact they drop on hard too, it was really unwarranted. Just beat him on elite, but he's incredibly hard now and the fight just drags on a bit too long, wasting sp pots.
--Quick suggestion: HP dropped by 40% on all difficulties. Elite only: Trash waves doubled and respawn 5 seconds faster, death = turn into a mummy like original abbot release. Seals removed from hard.
-Reaver got more bugged.. Random AI breaks are much more frequently, and anti grab screws up a lot.

Yeah, I've been running on abbot on hard mostly (few elite tries in there). Even on hard it'd be possible to burn my entire SP bar (just over 2k sp on first life ungeared PM) before the portals even pop up.

I have varying success with disintegrate so either only use that or only use BDB and even using just that 1 spell I go through half my SP. Not that this is necessarily relevant but in the past on elite I'd expect to use 20% or less of my SP before the portals popped up.

Since it was released, I hated this raid until they changed it to spawn the 3 doors. It then became one of my most favourite quests, I absolutely loved it.

Now, I hate it with a passion. I have tons of feedback to share but first I need to see a dev being interested in why a veteran who ran that raid to death and loved it, now actually despises it. Until I see that, I won't say anything because I don't get them. Why would anyone think "I know... Let's upgrade old raid loot slightly to spark new interest, but we can only do that if we also make it 10 times harder, in an already challenging raid."

I have loads of things to say but will it actually matter?...

    Sigh.

I was happy to see a new set of Vile Blasphemy gloves drop in my name today - I knew you had to have the new versions to upgrade them, and this new pair will augment my old ones.

    For about 30 seconds.

One charge? Really? And now, apparently, they won't go to four charges if I keep grinding long enough to get a seal, but will just go to old standard. I'm loving this game more and more.

This entire update reeks of being rushed. The great irony is that if they were trying to get the update out before all the anticipated new console games came out, they failed MISERABLY at their goal. Not only did they not succeed in providing interesting new content to give people a reason to play despite the allure of those new games, they actually gave many people more of a reason to go play those games.

Exactly right. Playing Skyrim now. Keep checking back to see if the devs get the picture, but apparently it's worse than I thought and the forums are only depressing me more.

Hopefully Skyrim will keep me busy until something better than DDO comes out.

IMO, everytime they make such big changes to a quest, they should post an official discussion thread to collect feedback from everyone. They already do it on Lamania, I don't see why they shouldn't collect feedback in the same way on live, where most people play anyway.

Up until now, feedback on anything new on live has been posted on all sorts of places. The devs seem to focus mostly on General (or at least they tend to reply there more because more people read those threads) but it is not efficient enough. Keep everything in one place and show that collecting feedback doesn't stop at product release in a more resounding way. It is such a simple thing to do... instead of going through a thousand posts or accidentally bumping on an off-topic post that said something interesting.
