    Default Healing Clonk 17Cleric/3Monk?

Is taking 3 levels of Monk for Light Path finishing moves worth it on a Healing-specialised character?

I was thinking about playing around with a Dragonmarked Halfling flavour build just for fun, but if I get engrossed in the character will I end up being too gimp for high-level content?

You'd miss out on mass heal.

Mass heal is a lvl 9 spell which is attainable at 17 cleric...

I believe he would still be able to use mass heal.

the big thing here is missing Divine Intervention, SP, and the lack of KI generating off of casting heals.

With healing amp and unarmed attack speed you get ok healing with 3 monk. ITs great for a solo build.

I would suggest 17cleric/2monk/1fighter. The extra feat is better than the fists of light.

As a level 17 Cleric, I'd still get access to Level 9 spells, and I'd be able to prepare 2 of them at any one time.

The only thing really influencing my decision whether to go 18/2 or 17/3 is: When will Tier 3 of Radiant Servant be made?

As a Halfling I'd have much better Reflex saves, so Evasion will have a higher chance to succeed, and I'd take Toughness as both Monk bonus feats.

Also, I was going to go with Fists of Light so I could save lots of SP at the start of quests and after shrining with the -25% SP move.

You can still heal fine on a 17/3 build. In some content you can even heal better, though it is predominantly the easier content where that is true.

Lol, sorry for the wrong information as I've only played an FvS, not a cleric. xD

If you are set on this then do a lil twf'ing dex/wis halfing with the fists of light and use stunning fist. It'll be much fun to stun guys easy and could even have some implications in epic if you really push for a good dc.

Isn't stunning DC based on Monk level?

based on wis mod+ the mod of the effect and any items that contribute to the effect ie: Stunning + 2-10

The DC is 10 + half Character level + Wisdom modifier + Stunning item bonus

At level 20 with +10 Stunning HW, that's a DC of 30 + Wisdom modifier

Fradul is a Halfling 17/3 clonk, although he's definitely focused on melee rather than casting.

I'm just waiting to get a Torc before I TR him out of halfling into helf instead - I dislike being put on my back by air elementals if I roll a 1, and helf gives me better saves anyway.

When it comes to healing, though, he only uses Mass Heal outside of combat. It's too slow, and takes away from generating Ki.

I prefer to use the FoL finisher for mass cures, throwing in the occasional burst (doesn't interupt the FoL), and using Mass Cure Moderate for emergencies.

If you prefer to stay out of the action, then 18/2 would probably suit you better.

Edit: What do you mean by "Healing Specced"? Like, you only heal and don't melee or offensive cast?

Have a healing spec 17 cleric / 3 monk. Don't really use the light abilities that much but they are there when needed and can be nice at times. Main point is to have fun with your character. ^_^
