Default slight changes to Mabar Robe of Shadow

So, I was recently looking over the lvl 16 version of the Robe of Shadow, and the Epic version of the Robe of Shadow. As well as the Pale Master ToD set and I think that there could be a slight change for the robe of shadow to make it a viable alternative to the ToD set.

Currently there are the lvl 4, 8, 12, 16, and Epic versions of the Robe of Shadow, I'll just focus on the lvl 16 and the epic versions though.

Robe of Shadow (Level 16 Version):
Night Shield Caster level 14, 3 uses per rest
Superior Nullification VI(6)- +50% damage to negative energy spells of level 6 and lower
Major Void Lore-Negative Energy spells have a 9% chance to critically hit, +.5 to critical multiplier for negative energy spells
Greater False Life- +30 more hitpoints
Necromancy Focus- +1 to caster level for all spells in the Necromancy spell school

Epic Robe of Shadow(Epic version, obviously):
Night Shield Caster Level 14, 5 uses per rest
Superior Nullification IX(9)- +50% damage to negative energy spells of level 9 and lower
Superior Void Lore- +12% chance to critically hit with negative energy spells. +.5 to critical multiplier for negative energy spells
Superior False Life- +40 more hitpoints
Greater Necromancy Focus- +2 to caster level for all spells in the Necromancy spell school
Boon of Undeath- an Inflict Light Wounds spell will be cast on the wearer when they are successfully struck in combat

Now, my suggestion is that you add a level 18 version of the robe, and change the Epic version slightly, for example:

    Robe of Shadow(Level 18 version):
Night Shield caster level 14, 5 Uses per rest
Superior Nullification IX(9)- +50% damage to negative energy spells of level 9 and lower
Superior Void lore- +12% chance to critically hit with negative energy spells +.5 to critical multiplier for negative energy spells
Greater False Life- +30 more hitpoints
Greater Necromancy Focus- +2 to caster level for all spells in the Necromancy Spell School
Boon of Undeath- an Inflict Light Wounds spell will be cast on the wearer when they are successfully struck in combat

Epic Robe of Shadow(Epic version, revised):
Night Shield caster level 20 5 uses per rest
Epic Nullification IX- +60% damage to negative energy spells of level 9 and lower
Epic Void Lore- +15% chance to critically hit with negative energy spells +.5 to critical multiplier for negative energy spells.
Superior False Life- +40 more hitpoints
Epic Necromancy Focus- +3 to caster level for all spells in the Necromancy Spell School
Greater Boon of Undeath- an Inflict Serious Wounds spell will be cast on the wearer when they are successfully struck in combat
    Empty Colorless Augment Slot

Thoughts, comments, and any suggestions to help make this more viable is appreciated. This was just something that I thought might help make the Robe of Shadow a little more worth while to get compared to the ToD set for Pale Masters without completely unbalancing the game. I may look over some of the other Mabar items and post ideas for some ideas for changes to them as well, but this is all I have at this point in time. Sorry for the wall of text as well. >.>

Note: For the Greater Boon of Undeath, I wasn't sure if an Inflict Serious Wounds spell would be too much, so Inflict Moderate Wounds might work as well.

No. Epic version is already a great robe and offers Superior Void Lore, Superior False Life, and Boon of Undeath on one item. In its current form many already use it over all other robes. The Diabolist's Robe epic gives it a run for its money but with Epic Inner Sight Mabar is better. There is no need for an upgrade along with the fact that as stated your upgrade is WAY too powerful for a freebie epic item. MAYBE give it a colorless slot.

the ToD set for pale masters is a steaming pile of poo. i'd rather have archmage set on a pale master. i might consider the ToD ring worth wearing, if and only if you can't get your hands on the archmage ring, because +1/+2 exc int is worth a ring slot, but the set bonus? garbage. the belt? garbage.

the problem is not that the robe of shadow isn't good enough to replace the ToD set, it's that the ToD set for pale masters sucks massively and isn't worth equipping unless you've not been able to get your hands on the mabar robe. you're asking to buff the wrong gear. it's the ToD set that is a festering pile of suck wrapped up in fail.

It's already best in slot for a PM and doesn't really need any improvements.

I think that in itself will make this suggestion moot. Event items are intended to be rewarding items enough for a grind but should not replace raid quality loot. Remember, the amount of grind involved in the Mabar event is nothing compared to ToD (ring grind). Also, I do not think they would reward players an item that would replace two slots (as per the ToD set) in grinding such an easy* event item.

*Can be grinded in less than 24 hours by most well-built toons

    1. Its a robe not cloak
    2. Spell focus doesn't adds to caster level. Its augument. Spell focus adds to DCs.

    Besides theese minor mistakes

I think this would be overpowerd. Sure, would be great and all, but you now, to much.
It needs more HP (not HP of character, HP of item, it breaks very easily), and maybe some colorless, or even a blue slot (but I think blue would be a bit to strong, and colorless should be on all epic items IMO).

That and the fact that the epic robe of shadow is already much better than the TOD set sort of derail the suggestion.

Ok, I get what everyone is saying, and I do think the ToD set is pretty crappy myself (and this coming from someone who's pale master is their favorite character to play). I just thought that it was kinda stupid that the ToD set, that no one uses, gives you epic nullification IX if you have PM3 enhancement, when an epic item doesn't. It just didn't make any sense to me. I'll admit maybe the other suggestions I gave for it were a little over powered, but I don't see any reason why epic nullification IX can't be on it either, when it IS an epic item after all.

Well if they realy want to improve the pale Master set add a 10-50% ligth absorf or a 30 ligth resist on it. Probably would be nice on any pm and less of a waste of a slot.

now *that* i would be all over. actually worth equipping 2 slots for that. heck, you'd probably see everyone fighting over the chance to get light resist, not just pale masters...

They'd have to add extra DC for me to ever consider taking off my epic lion headed buckle.

It's just not going to ever be a best in slot for a PM unless it gets significant changes or upgrades
