    Default Alchemical Rituals Affect Crafting?

So I'm doing another TR for my monk. I'm starting to get up there in levels and decided to make some twink gear for her. I made a wonderful Lifeshield outfiit of invulnerability. it was a +4 outfit and had a ML 7 on it. I get to level seven put it on. I remembered I wanted to do the AC alchemical ritual to it, so I bind it, do the ritual and then I switch toons to get another piece of gear I had on a different toon. When I log back to my monk the outfit is now ML 9. What gives? The rituals shouldn't change the outfit!

It's been known for a while. Alchemical rituals do affect ML of crafted items; they do not affect ML of anything else. Not sure if it is WAI.

There's a bug for now, player must apply any ritual before crafting to prevent raising gear min level.

What does that mean? Apply ritual, prepare for crafting, add shard or rather prepare, ritual, shards? I already lost a little stuff and got extra annoyed by min level only going up after relog.

Yeah, May this whole thing came up in the Risia thread.

It turns out that the devs intend for it to work this way for rituals and risia recipes (as well as any other possible future tack on systems).

I agree this is a bad decision as it will forever put cannith gear with comparable suffix/prefixes to random loot as a strictly inferior option when it comes to leveling gear.

Someone please post a link to a developer's statement that this is working as intended. Maybe its right there on the front page or something and I just can't see it, but this thread looks like the most applicable one the forum search brought up.

Also, putting the alchemical ritual on after decon'ing the item and before applying the cannith shards still results in the item ML going up an extra step.
