The purpose of this topic is to compare DPS against Arraetrikos-like targets across builds and weapons. The gear set used will be the same as the default of Aaxeyu and Absolute Omniscience's fine spreadsheet, and all results will be from the same.

We are all aware that a devil-tailored Cannith weapon is superior to the Mineral II. For this thread, I will be using a +5 Holy Burst Silver weapon of Greater Bane, taking advantage of the current maximum minimum level feature/bug. For the Cannith weapon I will be using a falchion (noting explicitly that the difference in base dice is dramatically less for non-greensteel weapons) and khopeshes. For the Min II, I will be using a GA for the Barb and Fighter and a Falchion for the Paladin.

First, let us see how much better than a Min II these weapons are against a 50 fort target with significant acid resistance:

As we would expect, the style that saw the largest percentage increase was TWF: having more on-hit effects favors the style with more hits.

Next, let us see how far ahead the DR-bypassing eSoS is of the Cannith weapons:

Interestingly, the eSoS is about as big as a step up from the Cannith weapon as the Cannith weapon is over the relevant Min II.

Finally, let us review the DPS chart, where the yellow bars represent the eSoS or Min II khopeshes and the green bars represent Cannith weapons:



While the two weapon styles were roughly balanced before, I would argue that Cannith crafting has had a disproportionately positive impact on TWF, and it now appears to be the style of choice against Arraetrikos-like targets. Here is the information in numbers for the builds without many rogue levels:

All other things being equal, for paladins and fighters, TWF w/ Cannith khopeshes is clearly superior to THF w/ the DR-bypassing eSoS. For barbarians obtaining the DR-bypassing eSoS represents a 0.04% DPS increase, or about 1/20th as much as having Prayer active.
