ki does go up for a monk. its called the capstone.

and hp regen items are already in the game (and about as useful as 12 sp anyway).

You do have attack speed boost. Would one boost per 2 mins regen do? Like radiant Servants TU regen.

Splash one cleric level. Make sure your blue bar is always empty and you'll effectively regen 1-2 HP per second, base (3-5 if you're amped and and have devotion enhancements). Not really great for zerging or during combat since you actually have to cast the CLW, but hey, free HP.

Granted, you just have to drop below 0 first, and have a little luck.
