Just got back up to 20 for my first time on our good server. Forums have been a bit quiet IMO so thought i'd post and document my progress. I deliberated a lot while on my previous life on where I wanted to take my character. Running an 18 barb 2 ftr khop user through any content in the game is a lot of fun and I was somewhat reluctant to leave that life behind but after deciding to pick up a fighter life I decided to make a blitz build and try things out before any changes are made that PL feat. I have to say that despite initially committing to the build as a way to get a fighter life done I grew to love the class. Although I miss the really ridiculous crit multiplier a barb gets, having haste boost and a stupidly high strength, raging for ages, stunning and some evasion really really works out nicely, and the couple of quests I have done at cap (epic deeps, von6 and elite amrath) have gone very smoothly (though i'm still useless without a healer - oh well theers always next life..)

For anybody who is considering tring for the first time I would recommend a decent stay at 20 beforehand. Picking up that great piece of raid loot and trying it out at level10/12/13 really pays dividends. Obviously Greensteel in Gianthold is a farce however even at the earlier levels , min lvl 4/5 chrono stuff is great and easily attainable in a run or two and the min level 7 claw set is all sorts of jibber jabber - also the crimson chain is good for those dpsers with casters who are a little stingy with haste or when soloing/using a clr hireling. I figure that with the investment in time you put into this stuff its nice to be able to use it when you can zerg through dungeons and kill things before they know what's hit them.

Anyway that's nothing new. I'd say I pugged about 15% of the content up to Gianthold and maybe 30 - 35 thereafter and most went by without a glitch, i can only think of one really bad experience which I figure gives a good account of our server. Seeing as i haven't seen a good love fest post in a while i should thank a couple of folk who I have come up with along the way, apologies to anybody I miss, i had a blast this life, having really missed the freedom of some of the earlier content hadn't run since my f2p days being ale to rerun that stuff was great. First off a shoutout to Healncharge, Dream and Aleyda for some really nice low -mid level runs. Thanks also to Trainwrek for showing me the bloody crypt for the first time - that paid off. Likewise to Sestra for buddying me through the necro series and making sure our shadow runs were a ten minute affair - also for teaching me how to be a dirty zerger and spend 700k on healing pots Roq and some GRR folk got me some cheap Threnal xp and Diggity/walts kept me busy through invaders/necro 3.Later on Soturi jumped in on his eternally mid levelled wizard, maybe on my next life we can hit 15 together dude. Mr cow's quest diary and his SoS run were much appreciated and finally i'd like to thank Dingal for his lack of voice chat and prayer bead jibes - i don't know where i'd be without them.

my wizard is level 16 now tyvm! which is awesome progress, seeing as i tr'd him in early december.... 2 mil xp over the course of 4 months is good considering 9/10 parties i enter fail due to my presence.

grats on your build, and i'd just like to say that i've honestly never seen mobs in elite amrath die so fast- barba is freaking AWESOME. you should come along for one of our elite TOD runs, put all that hard work levelling and gearing to good use

Thanks man to be fair i cant really take much credit, there was some truly sick dps in that group. Dingal and I off timer for TOD tomorrow and anything above normal will get me my yugoloth pots so we can smash Horoth in the mommy-daddy button

hell yeah though, i can heal a TOD, but my barbarian will be on timer until early saturday morning, unfortunately
