    Default Would you keep playing?

If you logged on, first time in almost two months, with no work, lady is at work, literally nothing that needed done but some long put off gaming.

And you found that your ingredient bag, with around 30-40 lg scales/stones, and 80+ of all the garbage ones, was completely gone?

I have a ticket open, and am hoping to get lucky there. I have already spent the last two hours checking every single toons inventory and bank. Twice when I didn't find it the first time.

For those that have had this happen to them, any other advice?

Just at a loss. Not looking for commiseration. I know that it sucks. I'm just curious if you would even bother to keep playing if it happened to you?

    Yeah I would keep playing.

Honestly, Green Steel is great in some cases but not as dominating as it once was.

    I'd keep playing.

This happened to a number of my guildees over the years. They didn't get them back. They did get back on their feet quickly with donations from guildees and a few "donation runs" (all larges given to the one person).

    Wait, what?!

    Wow...that sucks Sam

Were you trying to do anything with it when the server crashed, like put it in the bank? Could have gone *poof* that way. Not that that helps your situation, but just trying to think of what might have happened.

As for if I'd keep playing, yeah, probably. Ingredients can be made up, and I always have Cerial to suck up to Not saying it wouldn't make me die a little inside, though.

    Yes.

However, please note that I don't actually have any of that stuff to lose (been playing since Sept. '09, and still not one capped character). I play for the fun, not for the grind.

From my perspective (mind you I'm a terrible person to ask this question of) it's just stuff.

Nice stuff. Hard to find stuff. Important stuff maybe... but still just stuff.

I'd be bummed, maybe even a bit ****ed, but I wouldn't quit over it. Just like I wouldn't stop writing a book if my computer crashed and lost the last ten pages I'd just written... I'd go back to my notes, and hammer them back out... (this has actually happened to me, and yes I did).

Using the book analogy, in that case, the lost ten pages ended up being more fun to write the second time through, because I was able to see all the things I'd done wrong the first time through, and fix all the inconsistancies that had snuck in while I was rushing to get through said pages.

Then again, I could be wrong, and you could've just lost a lot of versitile solutions for modern living. /durden

Different strokes there. I have not enjoyed playing the game since the introduction of Dungeon Alert. Literally and seriously, since that time, I no longer enjoy questing. I do, however, still enjoy making builds, and part of builds is unique loot (like my ooze-based bard). With that option gone, though, maybe someone trying to tell me to move on.

I was in a Tower when the servers crashed yesterday, so I'm leaning towards that not being the issue. Hard to say for sure though; I do have a bugged Heroic Deeds in my inventory.

    Honestly, I would still play.

If I had that many stockpiled, then it means I didn't really need them. Yes, it has much in common with a vacuum, maybe even MegaMaid, but there's still the fact that I had so many and was not using them.

If/when you start farming them again, you'll still have a bag full of ingredients that you're not going to use.

Actually it meant I was about to craft 5 tierII items over two characters, but since it was a drastic equipment re-alignment, it meant that I didn't want to finalize it until I got two more epic items I wanted to grab first.

Have you tried the buy back option from a vendor, you could get lucky. Hopefully it will be there for you.

Nerfing my charm armies didn't stop me.

Nerfing my summon armies didn't stop me.

Being kicked out of almost every guild I've been in didn't stop me.

Losing touch with many in-game friend didn't stop me.

Looting a wife and daughter didn't stop me.

    Greensteel nerfs didn't stop me.

    Dungeon alert didnt stop me.

    TWF nerf didn't stop me.

Deleting everything and starting over several times didn't stop me.

    Spell changes didn't stop me.

The upcoming spell changes won't stop me.

Losing a bag of ingredients wouldn't stop me.

'course, I've been on f2p/premium for quite some time now so it's a lot easier to swallow a jagged pill. But yeah, I'd keep playing.

Mailing a bag with that much stuff in it is expensive. I have always used the shared bank once I realized I was spending over 1k plat per stamp to mail it around. At this point, I have checked every character I own twice, even name holders that I don't play. Just waiting on the ticket now.

Yes, but only because I am premium and will never spend another cent on DDO again anyways. If I was a VIP with nothing purchased not a chance.

Check the AH someone selling a large bag (assuming it was not bound). It might have been you... Seriously I have picked up a few bags over the years that had stuff in them, that the first owner left inside. (You can't see what it is, just that the weight of the bag is too high and that it has slots filled.)

The buy back check at a barkeep is another good thing to give a shot with. Make sure it is with the character that you believe last had the bag.

I thought I had done that before... my heart was is my stomach.. I actually did find it on some RARELY used Mule... I do share a Large bag (of each type) between all toons. I Try to log out with all put in a bank for the next person to you.. All the bags are "locked" though so they aren't sellable or droppable... I can't imagine a way it can be lost.

    Sorry for your strife mate.

SideNote.. After my "near loss" I did make a "back up bag" from a different Large Ingrediants bag where I put about 40 of each small, 30 of each Med.. and bout 15-20 of each non stone/ scale large in.. I like to only keep 5-10 of any large 15-20 of all meds and smalls in my "MAIN" everyone uses bag.. and every once in awhile. I round that one down and store the spares in my back up.

    Good luck with your ticket!
