    Default Will Save Dump

How high does Will Save need to be to be moderately useful (Saving at least 25% of the time) at endgame?

I have Dwarven Ranger12/Fighter 8, whose current self-buffed Will Save is +17 with GH. I could push this to +19 with a couple of adjustments, and to +22 with a +3 Exceptional Will Save Green Steel Item. There are probably some other situational buffs that could push it higher.

Is a +22 Will Save worth the trouble (and the Larges), and at what point should I just dump it completely?

With current game content (and buffs)--will saves aren't worth any major investment on a melee in my opinion. I rarely run into any issues with will saves in the sub-20s (not that I'm actually making saves--I'm just not getting hit with spells because of buffs or the fact that such spells aren't being cast).

That may change with new content--but right now, not a big deal.

    I agree.

Low level, Will save is incredible. High level, we have buffs that make us immune to almost everything that Will saves help against.

If future content includes more mobs that can cast Greater Dispelling and Greater Command, however, every point will count. A lot.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

    Thanks for the input.

So is my current +17 worth anything at all, or can I get rid of that +6 Wisdom item?

Most issues are handled with Prot from evil, FoM, fear immunity, death ward/block. It's almost to the point that if you are prepared, will saves are moot. There isn't much involving a will save that gets past the above named buffs.

When it does matter is if the mobs are stripping your buffs off. Deathblock item, fear immunity item, and delver's boots are your best friends in this case.

The only will save in high level content is ToD Banishment (requires 42+, I believe). And of course, you don't need to even make a save if you have Boots, which basically everyone requires in order to invite you into a ToD run.

So, no, Will saves are not important in high level content. 17 is as good as a 19 is as good as a 22, so I'd dump it.

I have a very high will save melee (level 20 save around 35) and I am rarely subject to any negative effects from will save based spells. There a lot of immunities that lessen the importance of the will save as others have noted but I do notice that my character is incapped less than a lot of others due to a failed will save.

The problem with relying on buffs is that:

1- They can be dispelled and
2- You may not have a character capable of casting that buff in your party.

To answer your question though, I would leave your will save as is but I wouldn't craft a greensteel or take any additional feats to improve it. By way of example, the current end game (non-epic) raid, ToD, requires a 31 will save to be almost immune to banish (can still roll a 1) so 17 provides a some level of protection against the high water mark for will saves. Presumably, it provides better protection against most other will save based attacks.
