    Default Mabar Cloak and agro

A quick question about the Mabar Cloak & agro:

    1. Does it make you loose hate agro?

    2. Does it make you loose intimi agro?

    3. Does it make any difference if the critter has true sight?

I'm obviously talking about when the invis proc goes off.

    Thanks

They can see you if they have true seeing. I believe many raid bosses (Lailat for one) have true seeing so that means you don't lose hate aggro.

The only boss I've heard with problems is the jailer in ToD.

if you have agro on a mob that does not have true seeing and the invis goes off you lose aggro. If the mob has true sight (horoth, suulo, etc) then if you had aggro when the invis procs you will still have aggro.

This has not been my experience at all.

Agreed, I have never lost agro due to turning invisible. Sometimes the mob may takes a few swings in the air if you move a bit, trying to guess where you are, but he still stays on you.

I have shed aggro many times when the improved invisibility procs. Even while soloing if the cloak procs the mobs start swinging at the air. If I don't hit them again and I can sneak away if needed. The only times I have not shed aggro is when fighting some red names. If you keep swinging at the mob when it procs and no one is close you will keep the agro. This has been my experience.

As far as I know - and I use Invisibility a lot - being invisible does not lose agro.....sorta.

I wish I knew exactly how it works, but basically, just being invisible does not lose agro.

But that is not the whole story.
Monsters have to see you to agro on you. And many monsters have what players call random agro, which means they switch targets every now and then. For those monsters being invisible can help you lose agro.
But they can still hear you. Or bump into you...etc.

I haven't figured out if they actually have memories of seeing you before or not.

And actually the game is kinda buggy with agro and invisibility at times.

What I do, when things start to go real badly, and I am near death, is I go Invis and jump around the room like a scared rabbit. Healing up as fast as I can....maybe rebuffing...etc. Maybe throw some rezes...whatever I think I need to do before going back into the fight. This works very well. It does not lose agro from most things, but helps a lot against devils who change agro often. And sometimes things go into their sonar-like, attack the air mode to try to find me.....which really slows down their attacks.

I believe in a couple instances, I have successfully gone Invisible, after having agro, and gone into sneak mode and actually losing agro...even after the rest of the party has died. It's rare, and maybe only works if I had agro from those random agro mobs... but has worked at times.
I gave up a life of farming to become an Adventurer.

I stopped using the cloak in things like Shroud because it would proc and then I'd lose the aggro. I've also seen Harry seem to walk thru a gap created when the cloak proc'd. This only happened one time so I'm not sure that this is the real reason, but it looked on my screen as if the cloak proc'd and then there was a gap. All I know is Harry go loose for a moment.

It definitely causes mobs w/o true seeing to swing wildly trying to figure out where you are. IMO they still have aggro towards you, they just don't know where you are at. This means they shift aggro as soon as they see a new target.

That seems to explain what happens to me in Shroud when the cloak procs. So many other good choices, the mob just heads there instead.

    Yes.

When the invisibility procs it has no effect on aggro whatsoever. The invisibility just grants you 50% miss chance unless the mob has true seeing, in which case it doesn't matter. I can see how some people might think it makes you lose aggro because the invisibility has an interesting effect on mobs. They can't target you immediately, but they still find you pretty quickly. If someone else is swinging at them and you stop once the invis procs, of course the other person is going to grab aggro, but that had nothing to do with the invisibility itself.

Edit: It seems to work very similarly to when you can target invisible/hidden monsters. You might see a red flash on the ground if you can hear them or see a shadowy outline, but you don't get a hard target circle if you hard target them. Also note a similar thing seems to happen when fighting a vampire or similar monster. Sometimes they phase out, but you remain hard targeted so that when they phase back in you don't have to re-target them.
