Question Wizard spells vs sorcer spells

Is there a list that show the difference between the wizard and sorcerer spell? I know wizards can get all the spells so which ones can't the sorcerer get. If someone knows of a thread to this question, I would greatly appreciate it! Really looking for a list to tell me the different ones a sorcerer does not have access to.

For DDO purposes, it's the same list ... they share it.
Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane

They are the same. The difference is that a Wiz can learn all spells and change them out easily. Sorcs have to choose which spells they want and have a limited ability to change them (one spell every 3 days, and it costs plat).

OP this is how it is:

Sorcs and Wizards get the same spell list. BUT.

A wizard can scribe the spells into their spell book from scrolls they find, or can learn some at level up. They can then swap their spell list around whenever they have just rested at a shrine, or in taverns.

A sorceror can pick any spell from the full list for each level they can cast when they level up, or every three days can visit a trainer and swap spells for others from that list. But they are locked into those spells until the 3 days have passed and they visit a trainer again (or lesser reincarnate).

The difference is not in what spells they can cast, but in how they get access to those spells and how often they can change them.

For reference - Bards and Favoured Souls share the same mechanic as a sorceror (although not the same spell lists).

Sorcs also get access to their spells one level later, no?

Sorcs can swap 1 spell each 3 days. (not "spells").

So if you dont know exactly in advance which spells are good, and which such, you will run into spell selection problems if your 1st arcane is a Sorcerer. - No assuming by reading spell description will not work. You will make false judgements, as you yet lack the experience.

Wizards can spaw their complete spell list around after each shrine, and when they step into a tavern.

---> For players new to arcanes i can only recommend Wizards. So you can try out the diffferent spells, wthout causing annoyed (with good cause) party members when you group, because you dont have critical spell X, but instead carry crapspell Y, which sounded cool when you took it.
Erzskalde (Warchanter) / Erzassassin (just passing through - ignore me) / Erzsoldat (waiting for TR-time) / Erzschmied (ranged Artificer)

The other major difference is that Sorcerers have a larger spell point pool and that is supposed to reflect that while wizards use magic as an intellectual art and study it thus potentially learning every spell available sorcerers use magic intuitively.
Or put like this, Wizards study and memorize their spells and can only cast those spells memorized while sorcerers "know" all the spells they can use and are much less formal in their training.
The old school pen and paper saying was "Wizards are taught, Sorcerers are born".

I was under the impression that sorcerers dont get all the spells wizards do, that was the basis of my post but I guess I am incorrect!? TY for the input all!

Sorcerers do have access to all the spells a wizard has access to however they only have a few of each level they can cast. A wizard can change out what spells they can cast after resting or in a tavern as long as the spell they want is in their spellbook for them to memorize. While a sorcerer can only change out one spell every three days and must see the trainer and pay X amount of plat to do so.

It may also be worth mentioning that Not All Arcane Scrolls are available from Vendors.

Those that are Not Should be Taken at Levelling up. Otherwise they must be Looted.. Bought at AH or Received from a Kind Person....

    all the best
Suicide? I couldn't possibly recommend such a thing... there's no future in it.

Default Seems some people need to update on their convential wisdom.

    Sigh.

No, the spell list is not exactly the same anymore. People here are failing to account for the new prestige lines that wizards have gotten lately.

I'm a sorc not a wizard. All I know is that archmages and pale masters now have access to some signature techniques. Someone current with wizards, please elaborate for the sake of the OP on the spell like abilities.

I thought the OP was asking about the spell list not enhancements that grant "spell like abilities" sorry to not have thought of those as part of the spell list.
