    Default Need a little help

My wife and I have been playing for about two weeks or so and we both need some help learning the different aspects of the game (spell, scrolls, potions, enhancments etc...etc...) the question I am asking is where is the best way to find these anwsers. Is there a quide to teach us the very basics off ddo or is there a web site...

You are at the best place...spend lots of time scanning these forums. Lots of good info here.

You ask the marketplace advice channel, or for topics requiring more detailed discussion or explanation, you ask here. Game mechanical info and build elements can be found on the DDOwiki.

You can certainly learn a lot from the wiki, but I'm not aware of a tutorial guide anywhere, though I'm sure there are probably several.

The other best way is to just learn in game. See if you can find a guild and you can ask questions in guild chat, or maybe find some groups with an experience leader and and just ask them questions. To this end, a microphone will help a lot.

There are several ways of going about this. First what server are you on? You can try hooking up with a guild that can help show you the ropes. Many are very friendly especially towards new players. I personally like helping and teaching new players, unless they are completely ignorant and refuse to listen to what I have to say. Secondly, you can check out www.ddowiki.com and find tons of useful information there. Check out the build sections on these forums and they will give you good ideas towards what kind of characters you want to build. Do what you want with your build, you can have fun in this game with pretty much anything as long as you don't gimp your constitution lol.

+1 btw for doing what a lot of new players don't do and that is coming here and asking for guidance.

If you find sites like the ddo wiki and compendium.ddo.com are still too complex, or assume too much knowledge, look for a D&D3.5 SRD to read.

This will explain the basics of D&D3.5, and there is quite a lot to cover, and so when you read up on DDO later you'll find it easier to understand the differences.

Essentially a good grounding in the fundamentals can pay off dividends.
