Default Epic OOB - Never gave up.

This morning I ran with the most determined group of people ever. We started the group with 3 casters, monk, pally and a healer. The quest was Epic Offering of Blood.

Epic OOB can be quite challenging with for a group of PUGs. Since update 8's insane SR increase, it has become a lot more challenging.

Everything was going pretty smooth until we got to the first bridge where the fire traps are located. We got stagnate like many parties and didn't really move anywhere. We started to die one by one and then wiped. The cleric decided to quit and leave. Soon after that, one of the casters decided to recall out too.

So all we had left was 2 casters, monk and a pally... all dead. Magnito (one of the casters) wanted to try and finish it without a healer, so he used a rez cake to get himself up and everyone else.

Slowly but surely, we fought our way to each and every switch, everyone dying multiple times just trying to make it to the next lever. It was utter chaos and excitement. One by one, we killed every red-name that was set before us. We finally made it to the boss and was going to use the "door" block method, but unfortunately the pally and monk was too close to the door when the fire barrier came up and locked them out, so it was only two casters against the boss.

We were having a long struggle with the boss (all our gear was broke, so our FW were really weak). Things looked bleak, so I decided to try something random and throw Symbol of Persuasion, we were desperate. IT WORKED!!! It snagged his minions and they started beating on the boss like he stole something. After some more dying and spell blasting him, he finally went down.

We killed 111 monsters, had 52 deaths and took 112 minutes to complete. One of our members used 35-45 Rez cakes (Turbine got rich this morning). In the end we beat Epic OOB with a group of random people, and it was an amazing feeling. We also learned a lot of new techniques for future runs too. At the end of the day, this is what DDO is about, grouping with strangers all around the world and having a good time.

Congrats to you and congrats to Turbine. This is how Turbine wants everyone to use the DDO store.

"It snagged his minions and they started beating on the boss like he stole something."

+1 for the LOL, and for the persistence.

Someone got a seal in the first chest, no scrolls. And like always, the "Epic" end chest was nothing but vendor trash.
