Default I want a poison that is that strong

So I was running weapon shipment. To speed things along, I was fighting the Pit Fiend at the end. Just when he died I got hit by his poison.

Yeah that pit fiend poison is some bad stuff. A good poison which is only available to a monk with the Jidz-Tet'ka bracers and in Ocean stance is the Thri-Kreen venom. It paralyzes (more like a stun allowing each hit to be critical) and 1-6 dex dmg. The DC is pretty low on it so you dont see it too often but its pretty nice when it does hit. Not sure if the DC increases on the epic version though.

Heck, I'd be happy with poisons that work at all on the player side....

Why do you think we buff freedom, fire, and POISON before fighting Harry in the Shroud? Rolling a 1 against the poison and dieing is never a good thing...

The 1189 points of con damage. That isn't hp damage. What happened is like someone taking a wounding weapon and hitting someone 1189 times with it...in one attack.

That's how pit fiend venom has always worked in DDO. Or it was 100 con damage IDR but it's the same thing unless you have ~<100 con.

That was designed when 0 con killed you.
It was meant to be auto-death if you didn't have poison immunity.
... now it just stuns :P

that's one hell of a poison though!

The poison from Red Fens' Vulkoor's Cunning set also deals some pretty wicked CON damage on vorpal strikes (sometimes 10!). DC is okay, becoming less reliable over time, and I'm not sure if epic ups the DC, the CON damage, or both. Probably both.

However, on a completely different non sequitur, I wonder how much HP a 1,139 CON barbarian would have...

What's amusing is that Pit Fiend venom was defined in DDO to be 1000 constitution damage. Something's happening with scaling to raise it above the nominal maximum.

I've never found that Vulkoor Poison to be useful given the monsters you fight at those levels. The epic version is reported to have exactly the same DC and damage.
