Default Devil Assault Epic in 40 min. on Khyber

Epic Devil Assault! First try, 40 minutes, 3 deaths (2 in the first 15 seconds due to lag, 1 to end boss who hits HARD), about 4 majors used across the whole party.

I pulled a Large Scale, Large Stone and a Mysterious Artifact. Some others got boot ingredients, larges, a Shard of Power and an Astral Diamond.

Oh, and I have zero epic items and only a tier 2 greensteel on my barbarian (though both Numot and Sorg are positively dripping with goodies).

CC was key here (as I mentioned it would be earlier). Used disco ball, Symbol of Persuasion (latter waves gain immunity to this via Shavarath environmental effect), Mass Hold, Flesh to Stone and Stunning Fist from what I could see. Sorg's enchantment DC was something like 46, so take the effectiveness of the CC with a grain of salt, and maybe some humble pie.

Oh, and I gathered that the new songs from the Spellsinger played a large part in the low resource consumption, as both Sorg and Numot were joygasming over the songs fairly constantly.

That was a total blast, and very lucrative.

I had the absolutely enormous resource usage of 2 mana pots and 8 Heal scrolls. (I don't have a Bauble).

Yeah, the return was pretty phenomenal! I'm kind of skeptical as to whether we didn't see an above-average loot pull in here or not. If what we got is pretty close to the norm, this may replace running Shroud and Amrath quests almost entirely for capable 20s seeking Large ingredients and/or boot ingredients, although, as I said after we completed, I don't know that every group running through here will be as capable as we were.

I wonder if Shroud farming will decline now that you can get Shroud ingredients from this quest? I certainly hope so.

    Doubtful.

Vets don't generally farm the Shroud (unless you meant farm to simply mean run frequently), and the players who bother farming are likely too weak to get through this on epic, and likely not elite.

As for completing the Shroud, there's still the matter of cleansers and +3 tomes.

Grats guys, just did it in 44mins, was a lot of fun. Not really worth running, two tokens and the chance of larges are almost though. ;P

They did in Llamaland, but I only got one large bone out of like four runs.

Yes. Drop rate is pretty low, however. On Epic, there's two chests that can drop them.

According to what I've heard of the datamined loot tables, we had a pretty typical run. As for the Bauble - I find that quest so boring that I have no intention of running it 50 times. Epic VON6 is fun so grinding it is not a pain.

Gratz, and nice loot haul! Nice that you can loot Astral Diamonds now (as well as other stuff from the Store).

Pretty sure there are no scrolls in there. Chronoscope scrolls are going to be very rare, while the base items, seals and shards drop like crazy.

**** what time did you guys get up?

I set my alarm for 5am but I must of slept through it, woke up at 7 and didn't have time to do much at all.

Hmmm I could hit 43 for Enchant DC with Yugo, store and ship +2 buffs after Archmage Pre.

Good work guys, and Stunning Fist makes light work of almost any high level content...Monks are so **** gimp.

Heh, I was up from 2.30am my time (the server was up at 2am).

We did an Epic Chronosphere afterwards. That was more difficult for three reasons - one, we had to figure out how to kill the armored Orthon boss while fighting him (and we still aren't sure what we are meant to do there, probably should run it below Epic to figure out what causes him to teleport away and back again), two, the lag was horrific once the Mabar event started (I was fine until the Cojoined Abashai Devastator hit about 30%, then after that hit lag so bad that all I could do was hide and spam heals, it was like part 4 of the Shroud pre-Update 5), and three, we had a bunch of lowish HP toons. Don't take any of those low HP types on Epic Chronosphere, there's a lot of nasty AoE damage (melee cleave attacks as well as spells) coming at you from the trash.

It's much like the Sulu fight in VoD. If you follow the DM texts, he ports away and calls for his armor to be fixed, insinuating that you damaged him, or his armor, which he seems to really, really care about. We did it with a Paladin hack tanking him with an eSoS. Worked pretty good, but it's a real ***** to position him after he comes down. Flank as best you can, but you'll be mass healing anyway he was this odd cleave so it's hard for everyone to flank and take no damage.

The real fun fight starts once adds start spawning, with him. Take out the casters then other adds first while the person holding agro of the Orothon tries to position him facing away from the group, as his xbow is fokin' nuts damage. Almost one shot our tank a few times.

Over all I'm really happy with the new raid. Even if it is level 6 content we're running on epic.

We did Devils Assault twice, once on elite just to see the quest, as many of us hadn't run it sense level 16 two years ago when it came out, and then again on epic. Only one death on the last boss, I was healing and had no idea he would hit that hard lol. Wish they had two of that end guy spawn, that would be a really good fight.

Loot wise though, one person pulled a large stone each time, and I got a large shrap off the epic chest. The rest of the group whined because they weren't happy with their small/medium ingd. :P

We just brute-forced it with all melees having somewhat high HP and using Mass Heal. The armored Orthon's attacks weren't dangerous really (although they add up over time, kinda like the Judge in ToD), it's the adds that did the damage.

He doesn't port like Suulo, however - Suulo ports to the top at fixed HP thresholds (80% and 40%) and spawns adds at set thresholds as well (most notably 35%, 30%, 25%, Orthons at 20%, suicide bomber bats at 5%). This guy seems to port on a timer or when a condition is met (not sure which, but it's not HP thresholds), regenerate while away, then return when a particular condition is met.

Working out what makes him port would make this encounter much more managable.

    500hp + Evasion workable?

By low hp do you mean 400~ ?

Did you keep someone on the boss like in von6 to combat the regen?

Sounds fun, hopefully get to try it tonight. Not looking fwd to the lag and bugs though.
