    Default Good find or terrible buy?

    Found a pair of +4 Vicious Handwraps of Greater Evil Outsider Bane on AH for 250k and bought them. Even with DR these are mostly better than Devouts in terms of DPS, but is the Vicious going to make a lot of people angry? Should I care? Was the price tag too high? I dunno, but I think I'm gonna love them.

    personally i don't think it's worth 250k, unless you're talking in gold pieces then good find =P

    Now to answer your question:

    It really depends on the situation. Often times you won't get as much DPS with those as with Devouts (DR is too high), but against things that can be bypassed with just Holy (once you get your ToD ring) it shouldn't be much of a problem.

    Just make sure that you're not being much of a drain on resources for it. If your healer's mana gets a little low...switch out definitely.

    devout = +2 enh + 3.5 pg = 5.5
    vicious of geob = +8 enh + 2d6 v + 3d6 geob = 8 + 7 + 10 = 25

    into 15 dr v of geob bane = win
    into 25 or 30 devout = win

    grab both i say

    Well... if you're lightside and will be getting tier 3 of shintao after update 7, it's pretty nice since you'll be getting healed either by FoL or by the spammed mass heals. That being said, I don't think I would have paid that much for them. On the other hand, considering the price of the alternatives (holy and anarchic/burst), it isn't too bad. If you're darkside... you only come out 5 damge/strike ahead on normal and are behind devouts on hard/elite on pitfiends and the like.

    Pure monks have a benefit that other melee classes do not. That is, every single reward list you see is almost guaranteed to have 1 or more of your signature weapon on it. Your chances of getting awesome greater banes from your own reward lists are much higher than any other class.

    So, if you paid that in plat... you got taken for a ride.

    Well I guess money comes and goes so I'm not going to lament that much about the plat I spent, but when people say they'll do better on normal than Devouts that's really what I needed to hear. I don't do hard/elite at all, but I probably will in the future..and at that length I have Devouts so win win I suppose.

    I would have bought them for that price without blinking twice. While not as ideal compared to Metalline of GEOB with a Holy Burst ToD ring, it's still a **** nice set of wraps.

    With the Radiant Servant aura implemented, Vicious doesn't even eat up a Cleric's mana anymore. That is assuming you have a neatly built Cleric in the party
