    Default Another European who cant upgrade to VIP

    Sad to say my experience of trying to add a credit card to enable my F2P account to be upgraded to VIP has been the same as a number of others, namely having entered my credit card details on the Payment method page i get the same error message 30005.

    The drop down menu descriptions of UK counties (equivalent of your States) is a little odd too Herefordshire is referred to as Herefordshire County which is not correct and could be a source of error messages

    Hardehar at post http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=272443 had exactly the same experience as me

    I am in discussions with my credit card to see if they can identify the nature of the problem, as well as signing up for another credit card to enable me to try another card.

    I really really want to upgrade to VIP but so far am drawing a blank finding a way to pay Turbine

    I had the same problem, Vik.

    I *suspected* that the problem might be related to the fact that the account I was trying to add a card to was listed as a DDO:U Beta account. The knowledgebase says the error is due to GeoIP determining that your IP isn't in the country of the card you are adding, but seeing as I tried on 3 completely different IPs from 3 different UK ISPs and that I get the same error if I try and change non-billing information, I believe that is incorrect.

    I wrote a long and detail support ticket, explaining everything I had done and a week later I got a form response telling me how to add a credit card, basically telling me to do everything I'd put in my original ticket that I had already done - so don't waste your time with that.

    In the end I called Billing Support - they open at 5pm UK time, it's an international number, so expensive, but they answered quickly and put the card on the account quickly - I was done in about 3 minutes.

    They didn't fix the underlying problem though, I still get the error 30005 when I try and make any changes to my account...

    thanks matey and i did exactly the same as you a couple of hours ago, rang the number in the US which from the UK was 001 781 407 4020 and after a 25 min wait listening to DDO songs call was answered and was a VIP within 5 mins with the very same credit card that wouldnt work on line.

    really posted the email so others in same boat could see a way to solve their problem and actually play this game we love

    So not cheap as you say 30 min to US but sorted

    So i guess this is the only way...
    I can not imagine how much a 30 min call from Europe to USA will cost,
    and i can not believe how bad customer support turbine has! i have never seen anything like this before.

    Ok.
    I am really ready to drop the game.
    I just called to the number above, the sound was really low so i could not hear anything.
    I waited 3 minutes and then the line hung up. So nothing was done again.
    SOMEONE FROM TURBINE AT LEAST REPLY, and tell us what we should do.
    At least tell us to stop trying if there is nothing that can be done.
