Okay, seriously, when have you not encountered somone you have killed who is probably the same level as you and says 'I Have A Level 20 And I Can Easily Squish You' but always turns out he/she doesnt. Or sometimes he/she does.
But, why the hell are you in the arena if you just came to threaten people who kill you that you will kill them with your oh so scary Level 20?

I'm no PvP expert, but I thought the whole point of PvP was to lord it over other people to show your superiority. Is that not what it's for?

This mentality is hugely prevalent in PVP focused games. In some of the open PVP areas in EQ where you can only kill someone within 5 levels of you, you would see the following happen:

level 10s are hanging out in the level 5-7 leveling zone and killing lower level toons off regularly.

Someone whose feelings got hurt for being "greened" gets their levdel 14, to lay the smack down on the level 10s.

After walking it off, the level 10s show up with their 18s and 19s to kill the offending level 14.

The 14 shows up with some level 24 guild members to gank the 18s and 19s who showed up to kill them.

So on and so forth....

What this turns into eventually is a bunch of max level raid geared toons slugging it out in a newbie zone, and much entertainment is had by all involved.
