    Default The Caster Battle

Basically, I Have Always Wanted To Start A Caster and tear stuff to shreds, and i love how cool all the spells are, i just bouhgt a WF and dont know is it better to role a wf wizzie or wf sorc, or lose some spells and do the solo build of Wiz 18 / 2 rogue to solo which i dont really care about but hear i would own in pvp one of my spare fun activities because 2 rogue gives evasion, so basically jsut need help i just want to go cast some fw and tear up some monsters

If that's the case, don't worry about anything, just dive right in and start having fun.

Most people would recommend going wizard first so that you get a chance to swap out spells and try them all so that you understand what works best.

If you start as a sorc, and have no experience with spells, you won't get a chance to understand what spells are needed and what spells you can do without.

So my recommendation would be start as a WF Wizard - Pure - and learn how to play a caster. Forget the splash of rogue for evasion for now. Max out your INT, put at least 14-16 in CON, forget the rest and have fun.

I know WF Wizard Palemasters have multiple ways of healing themselves, but I can't comment on how efficient that method is. The only major perk to WF Arcane Casters that I can tell is self healing and a few base immunities.

Be warned though, there have been cases where Pale Masters cannot self heal with their own negative spells due to high SR.

    both are very powerful...

my recommendation would be to first research what spells are most effective, then go sorc for your first caster. its more forgiving for a new caster because you will miss with spells at first. learning how to drop fireball bombs on large masses of mobs can take a little time, as can firewall placement and single target spells like frost lance. if you fail the cast as a wizard, you find yourself in a bind with low sp. sorc can blast away in all different directions and still have a little left over before reaching the shrine.

If you have the time, go check out the sorc/wizzy/warforged sections of the forums.
There is already a wealth of information there if you look for it.

If you can't find what you're looking for there, post a similar thread in those areas and
I am sure many will be along to help you with a character build.

Mind you, there may be alot of debate about what would be best for your character, i.e. the arguments about sorc vs. wiz.

If you want max DC: drow 20 wizard max INT lich form
If you want a nearly immortal char: WF 18wizard/2rogue - can repair yourself, dish out ton of damage, insightful reflexes and evasion to save any trap, disable trap and open locked doors/chest, crowd control, and if you like, master touch - a good greataxe in hand and melee!

So why are you on Orien and not on Cannith with us Guardiani di Eberron? :P

About the build, rogue at first level, then wizard until 7-8 , then 1 rogue, then wizrd til 20. MAx search, disable, UMD.

Rogue MUST be taken at first level, you are losing TOO MUCH on skills if you don't do rogue at first level. You can do a lesser/greater reincarnate +1 and change the first level, if you don't want to reroll

18wizard/2rogue or 2rogue/18wizard is the same thing O__O

    - character creation: you select ROGUE
    - from level 2 to 8: you level up in wizard class
    - level 9: you level up in rogue class
    - from level 10 to 20: you level up in wizard class

All the stat, feat, enhancements, skills are in the link I posted.
