Default sneak attack on undead? bug or wai.

ok so now the title has your attention.. read on, its not as good as it first looked.

ive got a pally rogue mix buid, interesting concept build - not uber powerful or anything, however ive noticed that ocasionaly i get sneak attack on undead. I believe that it sometimes occurs when i do a smite or posibly exalted smite or divine sacrifice and the undead arent looking at me, although as i have combat log turned off to reduce lag ive not been able to very the exact source of the damage but it certainly seems to match my sneak attack numbers.

I was wondering if any one else has noticed this? Further more after discusion with freinds and guildies were not sure if its a bug or if its possibly wai. Im thinking it may be one of those odd rumoured hiden features ddo has but doesnt tell you about, like say halfling luck bunus, or warforge hategain.

Our conclusion is its probably a bug but its harldy game breaking - probly gives me an extra 100 damage total in an undead heavy quest given the chance of it hapening.

    some info on the character.

Are you sure it is SA and not your residual smite damage, kotc dice? I suggest you turn on your log to actually find out.

It can be the special effect of glancing blow.

Is he unaware that KOTC bonus damage applies to undead as well as evil outsiders?

Which may or may not be a bug in itself.

Default still need to do further testing however..

yes i know kotc damages undead, i only have the first tear of that so that will be d6 bane damage, the extra damage im getting is in the 20's and has no associated symbol, which is consistent with my normal sneak attack damage. Its interesting that glancing blows have been mentioned, this could be where the bug lies.

ill break it down a bit more for you guys: my weapon is +3 icyburst, wounding, greatsword of pure good with the force crit enhancement. i have 8 lvls of rogue which give me about 20 to 30 points of sneak damage.

I have on occasion seen damage on undead:
    60+ (physical + smite), icy(d6), icy burst(d10), -0con, puregood(d6), d6(kotc bane), and additional 20to 30 untyped physical which is bypassing dr.

The problem with reproducing it is it doesnt hapen often. Infact as there is a 'small chance' of additional effects being applied on glancing blows this seems the most likely source of the extra damage, ie that on a glancing blow i have a small chance of getting full damage+ all my effects, and its not applying undead imunity to sneak damage.

It should be mentioned that some players characters can produce debuffs that theoretically can reduce an Undead to below 100% Fortification and enable Sneak Attacks. Check Monk finishers.

Has this ability actually been implemented? I was under the impression that it was still speculative at this point.

Dark monks have something, but it's not widely used, I've only seen one monk ever use it.
