Default Are there holiday events in DDO?

I'm new to the game and was wondering if they did special in game events for holidays like Xmas and Thanksgiving.

theres the "Festivult" event at xmas, where u can find tokens & trade them in for nifty cookies with magical effects plus a change of other nice items & loot

there was also recently an ice festival event to coincide with the winter olympics, and an easter egg hunt for, um.. easter
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

Yes, though it seems to be only Festivult for Christmas (where you exchange copper/silver/gold coins from chests for cookies/special loot. The other two events we've had so far aren't tied to specific holidays - Risia Ice games and Traveler's Scavenger Hunt - for Winter Olympics and DDO's Birthday respectively. I don't recall seeing any for Thanksgiving or Halloween.

    Festuvult - Winter Holiday
    Mabar - Halloween
    Traveler - Easter (Egg Hunt)
Crystal Cove - Birthday and Talk like a Pirate Day

So yes., we have had some special events, which is really cool! Thank you Turbine!

To expand upon what Nephilia said--

Yes, there is the Mabar event during Halloween. The event takes place in the House J graveyard (where the Delera's quest chain is located). Lots of undead killing for shinies there, too!

    Default Yes

September 19th is Pirate Time, Crystal Cove. Although Artificers broke it this year. Lots of Minotaurs and Kobolds. Good loot. Usually has to be done in a group but can be soloed if you do not care about keeping the Kobolds alive.

October, there is Mabar for Halloween. You must go to Delera's graveyard and fight a LOT of undead then a boss battle to get some cool loot. Gotta be in a group.

Christmas is Festivult, just run around and open up treasure chests in any quest for copper, silver, and gold coins. Any quest or slayer area with a chest will give you coins. Run solo or in a group, your choice.

Risia Ice Games can be in December or whenever. This was created to celebrate the Winter Olympics. This can be soloed but you MUST have a character with JUMPING abilities. HIGH JUMP, HIGH HIGH HIGH Jump helps. get the speed stone from 150 favor for House P.

Easter is the Egg Collector in the Market. Only solo. You need a character with some jump but you MUST have speed. get the speed stone from 150 favor for House P.

July is a rehash of whatever they feel like. We had Risia and Festivult again. But in 2012 there is the SUMMER Olympics. I am expecting something new for that.

There is nothing for Thansgiving that I can think of other that EXP boosts or loot boosts.

I survived the scary events in 2009, 2010, and 2011. 2011 did not reward those that played by the rules.
