Update 5 KILLING the builds I like playing (I need help with a new build to play)

So from what I've heard and read about update 5 they are basically killing the TWF builds unless you go 18 ranger to get (tempest 3) I liked playing an assassin build consisting of 13 rogue, 6 ranger, 1 fighter... so I was thinking of what build I would enjoy playing as much as I liked the assassin build and I came up with a THF spell using build of sorts probably a mix of either (Bard, Fighter) or (Bard, Barbarian) or even (Bard, Barbarian, Fighter) I figure bard because they can use armor and still cast spells


P.S. if anyone actually plays classic pen and paper D&D 3.5 I am kinda going for a similar to the (Dusk Blade class)

Not entirely true. They will be coming out with more feat lines. So you could stay anybuild you want but it would be a tighter feat choice.

I don't do the dps math stuff, but from the numbers people have posted, tempest rogues will still be pretty high up in the dps food chain, though not at the very top. Pure rogues against 0-50% fortification seem to be at or near the top.

No no, you got it backwards. If anything they are killing the TWF builds with tempest 3.

Your 13 rogue / 6 ranger / 1 fighter will still be top notch DPS, so don't worry about it.

I'd do some play testing yourself before making a bold statement like this, then put the results in relative perspective with what's happening to all other fighting styles/classes, then balance that with the lower mob hps that are coming.

The sky is far from falling.

If you have played for any length of time, think about the classes that have been in and out of vogue over the years. With U5, some character optimization will change, but from the changes we as builders will adapt and create the new best thing. Part of that adaptation is what keeps the game fresh for many of us.

Warchanter is pretty good. 2 fighter/18 bard is just one of the many builds, check out the bard forums.

The fact that i had to click in the thread to check what class the op was referring, tells a lot, everyone seems to think their own classes are hit the most, and most people is dead wrong about it... if anything, the overall balance wont change, only balance that changed significatively is twitching vs no twitching...

The fact that no one besides myself has answered the OPs question says even more. So far everyone has responded to the title and no one else has answere the question the OP asked. It makes me think everyone is hung up on the U5 changes so much that they are ignoring everything else.

The only reason the OP wants a new build is because he thinks his old build will be nerfed to oblivion. But the truth is that it won't. So if the reason to making a new character disapears, there's no point in helping him with his new build.

excuse me I am right here and Yes but NO! I do like my build and I am not going to delete it but I do want to make a Caster/Fighter build so to be blunt Right now I don't carer about U5 anymore I just want to find some one/place that can help me find that build.

To me the two handed fighting paladin plays a lot like the duskblades I've made. Sure you can't channel spells but you throw a couple of buffs before combat, as your running in you pump yourself up with stuff like divine might and throw out the massive damage through your exalted smites. It's a little low on AC compared to your shield wielding variants but fun all the same.
