Hey all. I just wanted to put my 2 copper on the issue of U5.

I have no problems with the changes, mainly because I don't do raids (and may do them pretty frequently) I usually solo or join some of my guildies and play with my local friends. I have a Tempest ranger, I have a Drow Bard, I have a Drow Wizard and a AA Ranger.

Yes things change, all MMO's change. I have played Wow, Toontown online, Cov/Coh, Star Wars Online. They all change regardless. You either hate it or your like it. However MMO's Change.

this is just a change for DDO. They still have the dice, even if they have more information for the new people who play. Turbine is a buisiness and yes they do read our posts and what we think, they may not use all of what we post, but I belive they at least acknowlege it.

I personally like the U5 changes and additions. If it fixes the lag or if it doesn't, then they can work on it. MMO have updates and patches to correct things, nature of them. Things change.

I will enjoy this game. I have a chance to make any character I want (regadless of what the "cookie" cutter characters are. I enjoy it for the social aspect as well as the solo aspect. I will continue to enjoy this game and no sense in griping at the devs because they haven't fixed this or that. It' not always there call in those matters, there is always upper managment.

I personally think the devs are doing a great job with what they have to work with and continue to do the great work

    +5 Rep for all devs.

So let me get this straight, you don't have any problem with the changes because they won't affect your playstyle to any great extent, not because you think they will improve the game or are absolutely necessary. So what about the players that they will have a negative impact on? Shouldn't they be a lot more vocal than you, since you are at best unaffected while they are detrimentally affected?

Let me get this straight, are you saying "Because all things change don't give emphatic feedback on when the changes blow and how they could have done 100 times better or aren't needed at all"?

this is just a change for DDO. They still have the dice, even if they have more information for the new people who play. Turbine is a buisiness and yes they do read our posts and what we think, they may not use all of what we post, but I belive they at least acknowlege it.

I've read both sides and while I'm not one of the up-in-arms posters about the dice change, I'm heavily leaning to their side. Telling people they should have rudimentary math skills if they are playing online games is not insulting them, but spending time (ie resources) on making game changes that are not important when presumably other things that are far more important are being forsaken due to limited resources is insulting to vets who have kept a subscription to the game for many years.

And frankly, Turbine doesn't really acknowledge that they read posts. The silence re: SoS crafting has been deafening for example. Saying that x change is needed to help lag is fine, but what justification is there for the 99% of the upcoming U5 nerf-a-palooza that has been given no coherent explanation?

So you are saying don't comment when they make bizarre changes out of left field with no explanation while things you would rather have changed are not addressed. Heck, its not their fault, its there incompetent management, so give them a break.
I personally think the devs are doing a great job with what they have to work with and continue to do the great work.

Apparently you have insight that I don't. I'm assuming the devs have practically nothing to work with. In fact, maybe the dev team is one person, who's also a gm 60 hours a week, and the head of the sales team, and does all his work on an Apple 2e computer. If that's the case, then I think he's doing a pretty good job.

There's been a ton of criticism over many of the changes potentially coming in U5, and for the most part I think the criticism is not unfair. I've followed the forums for several years, and mostly suggestions made by posters or criticism of certain game elements are met with equal amounts of praise and ridicule. The problem I see is that many of the changes (or lack thereof) that we are seeing (or not seeing) lately have been overwhelmingly given thumbs down by the forumites. And this overwhelming disdain is not being acknowledged by the devs. So definitely no positive rep for the devs from me.

What a stupid ruling, we all know that D&D promotes satanism, not gangs.

It sort of pulls you in, and sort of makes you want to laugh.....a lot

At OP, people are allowed to voice opinions, whether negative or not. They allowed to question changes so you come off high & mighty as well as not very knowledgeable saying they shouldn't.

To bad your little Dev praise speach is going to be ruined now because you didn't think this through very well.

Well it's not hard to see why the OP likes the change. Based on his character levels he has no real investment in the game, and more low level junk is right up his alley.

I suspect he'd have a much different view if he had at least 1 level 20.

I suspect his mind changes rather quickly once he learns that he can't get +30 stackable resistance and other goodies.

The "outrage" about U.5. seems to be coming mostly from vets...
    Im not a vet
I have been playing on the test server to check the update and enjoy my experiences.

The high level players havent been getting any content and now their play experience is getting changed (nerfed).

Turbine is obviously focused on low level content for new players or players rerolling...

Right now it sucks to be you guys... but Turbine will get to high lvl content and I really do hope they con balence high lvl combat becasue i wanna be there one day.

I just have to say if you are unhappy with the game why play?
take a break... updates are rolling out fairly regularly now.. ( not like before ) and high lvl content will be addressed I hope...
But right now, yeah devs are dealing with lowbies and you gods of the game are stuck until, and if they want, to fix endgame..

bad news and bad news is never easy to swallow... so whine and cry and rip on someon enjoying the game or be a freaking man grow a pair and deal...

Thank you for your feedback OP.

Everyone else is entiltled to their feedback also.

In a logical world feedback which states that the person giving it is less knowledagble about the subject at hand would be weighted accordingly. Quick clues are things like 'i don't raid often' or 'I've only run a few epic quests' when the feedback concerns raids or epic quests for example.
