Default Best middle life for my warchanter?

My bard Fleshchanter is my best equipped and most fun character and I think that it is time to true resurrect him. I want to have the same general build I linked earlier when I finish the second TR but I see no point in having two past bard lives.

So the question is: what should my middle life be?

Chanter uses two handed weapons, so if I go melee it would be easier to stick with those, I certainly am not going to craft any gs weapons for a temporary life. I do have several gs items that I am excited about putting on at level 12 or whatever it is. Whatever I build will be a warforged so please keep that in mind and give me the reasoning behind the past life that you think I should insert between my bard's bard lives.

    Thank you.

Monk is the best past life, but you won't be able to use your nice two handers. Won't have to worry about crafting GS items though

Barbarian might make the most sense, since you can THF, and extra HP are always nice.

How would a monk past life be useful, the evasive trance wouldn't help and I don't plan to be unarmed. Am I missing something in the implementation of that past life?

The passive (free) feat gives +1 dmg to all attacks. I didn't think you'd take an active benefit feat, since bards are feat starved, and none of them are that great.

If you did a Paladin PL you would gain 5% healing amp (helpful for WF). The +1 damage of monk wouldn't be too bad (as mentioned above).

You recall more about your past life as a monk. You have +2 to your Concentration skill, deal increased unarmed damage (one step higher than normal on the unarmed combat chart), and can enter an evasive trance once per rest, granting the evasion feat for a short period of time. (When you make a successful Reflex save to avoid damage, you suffer no damage instead of half damage.)
I do not see the +1 damage here, I see +1 die level for unarmed damage.

Thats the feat you take (which is a passive bonus, hence the name). You want the list HERE

IMO the best feats would be fighter (+1 to hit, +1 to trip/stun) or monk (+1 to damage).

Personally, I'm in the process of leveling my Warchanter up on his second life as a Barbarian.

I do plan on taking the PL feat (will be 16 Bard/2 Fighter/2 Barbarian) on his third life. If the hidden effect of the PL feat is meant to stay, then this is absolutely the way to go.

If not, I still plan on it but will drop the PL feat if the hidden effect goes away and/or if they ever come out with 2nd and 3rd tier Warchanter enhancements (and will LR to an 18/2 build, or pure if a melee oriented capstone becomes available).
