Lightbulb 20 WF Barbarian Massive THF Damage and Very High Hit Points 34pt build

This build has all the con and toughness enhancements as well as critical rage, extend rage, extra rage, barbarian and WF power attack, and the WF great weapon aptitude. Also the feats are of course Toughness, Power Attack, THF, ITHF, GTHF, Cleave and Great Cleave. My only concern is with a -10 to attack is this guy going to be able to hit anything? I know the big strength bonus will help while raged but will it be enough? If he does hit something it's going to be big damage. I'm sure someone has run something similar to this. Please give me your opinions. Thanks.

    *Can't take Crit Rage anymore
*Weapon Amplitude doesn't work (if memory is correct)
*Great Cleave...no. Take Stunning Blow or Improved Critical: Slashing...I recommend IC: Slashing, if you feel like Toughness is worth it, otherwise go IC: Slashing and Stunning Blow and forget about Great Cleave and Toughness. JMO.

    *Go the Frenzied Berserker Route
-Max out Hardy Rage, Power Rage
-Take a couple Healer's Friend (or whatever the enhancement is) to help out your healers.

I'm not overly sure where you're getting this -10 to attack...but WF THF Barbarians are some of the hardest hitting, if not THE hardest hitting builds in the game.
I got the -10 from power attack and the 5 power attack enhancements equaling -10. You can't take the crit rage enhancement anymore? I have version 3.34 Character Planner. It was supposed to be the most up to date one. I have never made a barbarian before and didn't even know about the frenzied beserker enhancements. I will have to completely rework this build. Thanks for the input.

Oh ok, that makes sense...by time you have all of the Power Attack enhancements, your attack will be in the 40-60 range and you shouldn't have a problem whatsoever hitting things

It is actually -11 attack roll:

    -5 from power attack
    -3 from WF power attack
    -3 from Barbarian power attack
    _______
    -11 attack roll

for +11 damage to one handed and +22 damage for two handed weapons.

Check out this guide for a great THF WF Frenzied Berserker, done by Shade. It's a great guide and pretty much walks you through the entire process of stats, enhancements, and gear you'll need to be top notch

WF Power Attack and Barbarian Power Attack should stack.
    • Racial bonuses DO stack with Class Bonuses.

    1. You can no longer get Crit Rage, and Frenzy is more DPS anyway.
    2. WF Amp is still broken
    3. Great cleave is ****

I can not stress enough how crazy Stunning Blow is

    and:

    You're title:

It's really all the small things that make an average barbarian great.. He messed up several small things so it's not really the same.

    Things messed up
Alignment: Never good. TN or CN are the only acceptable choices.
    Feat: Great Cleave = worthless.
    Con: 20 = overkill. 17-18 tops on a 34pnt.

And yea with max power attack enhancemens you won't hit the broadside of a barn if you just take them all and go nuts.

The key to fixing that is keeping them minimal as possible, ignoring all the WF ones until your 20 and maxx geared out.. And hopefully have a bard in the group.

If he's taking Toughness, I completely agree, 20 is overkill, but if he doesn't take it, then I think 20 would be fine.

It's all the little things that matter, because the other 95% of barbarian builds are identical

    In terms of CON:
The difference between 18 CON and 20 CON is 20HP at level 20.
The difference between 620 hp and 640 hp isn't significant (random number, not based on any math)

However, what else are you going to put those points into? Wis for will saves? Dex for reflex saves? Int for skill points?

CON is a barbarian's stat. Since it effects their HP and Length of rages.

For a TR barb with no toughness and reasonable endgame gear..
It's the difference in 740 or 760hp.. Not worth the loss of several points of saves/skillpnts.
    My recommended 34 pnt stats:
    Str 18
    Dex 13
    Con 18
    Int 9
    Wis 8
    Cha 6

Could dump wis into dex given the low amount of any real devastating will saves in the end game you can't otherwise be immune to with correct buffs.. But I'd wager they will add more deadly will saves eventually. And there are still a couple rare situations where having a few more points can make a big difference.

In the same way that CHA is a Favored Soul's stat, so I disagree with this. The most important stat for Barbs is STR. They already get very high fort saves and HPS. Rages that last a few seconds longer are not really very helpful.

Six seconds per two points of con X your tier of duration enhancement. The difference of 16 and 20 con are little.

True. STR is the most important by far.
