Default barbarian, 3rd tr.. wanna move on to 4th asap..

Alright, I am not a barbarian player. The highest I ever leveled one is to level 6... simply because I do not have the tolerance for something with low survivability.

Starting on my 3rd TR I want to get barb out of the way... I prefer to solo and as my sig states, zerg. I hate pot reliance, wands and scrolls allow faster healing.... I also firmly believe clerics are for dps, not healing me unless the situation is critical, so ac and evaion are always nice. i understand the ac will only be useful for the first 7-10 lvls.

So, decent build anyone? 36 point, ranger and monk past life.

Need a good one by may 10th, as thats my next TR.

I thought currently there was a max of 2 TR's, so once you cap your third you are stuck, or have they changed that?

Could you distribute stats as you did in one of your previous lives, level as an 8/3 ranger monk for wands and healing ki then take 9 Barb levels to qualify for the past life?

You wouldn't qualify for for Frenzied Berserker and might be gimped in the end but if you really don't want to play a Barbarian this might make it a little easier.

And you would be really happy at lvl 12 WHen you try to take you first level of Barbarian...and can not because you are lawful (MNK levels)...

My advice is to NOT do the Barb until later if you hate it so much. I am guessing you are one of those Loonys going for Completionist...If so, do Barb once they add some more 17-20 content so it is less of a grind?

Nope, you can go for completionist now... I think the furthest along is Star at 7th tr. currently

Guess I should clarify, going for completionist, must suffer the barb, no choice in the matter. Also, since most of the xp is gained the last 4 lvls... or at least most of the grind, needs to be viable. 8 ranger, 3monk, 9 barb is impossible. monks and barbs cannot coexist on the same character. Otherwise it would be an easy ac build :P

I prefer to save wiz, sorc, fvs, cleric for endgame. Its easy to grind all the xp out that way as you can solo every quest in the game faster then any other class can hope to.

Oh, and yeah-im one of those looneys :P

I got Barb out of the way already and did this with a WF 12Barb/6Fighter/2Rogue Kensai-Greatsword

Could solo almost anything together with a WF Arcane Hireling.

Good point, you'd think I'd learn after trying to level a Bard 14/Pally 2. Thankfully I took the pally levels first!

Sure, but you have a choice how long you hold off on suffering it. Say, 6 Ranger, 2 Rogue then 12 Barb levels would give you Tempest, Evasion, Wand healing and Trap skills while still qualifying for the Barbarian Past Life (you just need most levels in barbarian, right?).

You could reuse the weapons and gear from your ranger past life and wouldn't have to really play a barbarian until level 12+.

Also, since most of the xp is gained the last 4 lvls... or at least most of the grind, needs to be viable.
Should be pretty viable with FE Evil Outsider, an SP item for Ram's Might and maxed strength. With +6 rage at level 19 you'd have 38-41 str with just a +1 tome. TWF Tempest also makes good use of your Monk past life feat and sneak attacks.

Ignore FB and take Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, GTWF, Imp Crit Pierce, Power Attack and Toughness.

yeah, kensai or tempest.... rough choice really. Think ill go tempest since 12 fighter/6 ranger/2 rogue is the exact build for the 4th tr... was hoping to not lvl the exact same build, but oh well, it is what it is :P

If you start WF with adamantine body on a barbarian you can use a shield and have a pretty hefty AC for the early levels and still beat the stuffing out of stuff. My WF fighter waded thorough he harbor and often took around 10pts of damage average on hard and elite quests (where there were not large numbers of shamans). I don't see why a barbarian couldn't do the same.

Then swap out body when you take rogue for evasion and the AC becomes less meaningful.

Trip and stunning blow can be great for not needing as much healing and trip works decently without the improved version.
