    Default The Parkour build

Is there way to build a parkour like build in DDO? Parkour is the sport of running, jumping and flipping over objects, climbing walls and jumping form building to jumping. Think Prince of Persia or Jackie Chan . I would like to do a Prince of Persia style character and wandering which race/class combo would work. I know I would need the skills Balance, Climb, Jump and maybe Tumble (if the animation was better). The classes that might work would be Bard, Monk and Rogue. Any ideas or suggestions?

There is no Climb Skill in DDO.

and if you put enough point sinto tumble, you will find the animations quite fun. Its mid 30's for the flip and roll annimations.

Monk would work well of course... Abundant Step....

Maybe some ranger for the sprint boost

    Monk 12/Ranger 6/Rogue 2

Gives some sneaking - twf - and some ranged as well

What about a Thief-Acrobat? Say, 13 Rogue/7 Monk? That's what I immediately thought of when I saw Parkour.

    No abundant step then

Here is a cut at something that wouldn't be awful to play:

Monk won't really work cause I still want to use the two weapon fighting with Scimitars or Falchions and monk cannot use them cause of the centered feature.

What centered features are you actually worried about?

I do a lot of this around the marketplace when I'm just chatting with someone on voice on occasion.

The most fun abilities for this kind of stuff are:
    -Abundant Step/Favored Soul wings
    -Jump of 40
-Tumble of 35 (36?) -- by the way, if you can hit the buttons correctly, it is possible to do flips in the air: basically need to hit jump, a direction and block (tumble) at almost the exact same time. It's tricky, but fun (no practical use)
    -Spring Boost
    -Haste
-House Phiarlan Pendant of Time speed boost

There are a few quests where jumping and such are useful, but not many where a build would be required, or even necessarily more skillful than any other character.

Important to note that you have that backwards: monks can use whatever weapon you feel like picking up (- 4 penalty to attack rolls if you aren't proficient), but non-monk weapons will turn off some monk abilities by virtue of uncentering you.

If you just want Wis to AC and the bonus feats, you can use whatever weapons you feel like, but if you want to use abundant step and stances and such (anything tied to Ki) you'll need to use a monk weapon.

Don't take my advice as law, considering I'm just going off of what I've learned so far, but...

19 Rogue/1 Fighter Thief-Acrobat should be your "starting" point. Replace levels of Rogue with levels of other classes as you see fit.

While Acrobat-Thief encourages quarterstaves (though not nearly enough), if you're an Elf, I believe the level of Fighter will give you access to Scimitars and I believe Falchions as a free proficiency. Scimitars if you want to wield two of them, Falchions if you want to use a Two-handed fighting style, since you seem to like Prince of Persia.

Skills of interest would be Jump (stop when you're able to get to 40 with enhancements, as that's the max) and Tumble. Put points in Balance up until you get the Acrobat enhancement that makes you immune to knockdown. Obviously, you'd want open locks and disable device, as well as search.

To be honest, the Thief-Acrobat PrE pretty much screams "Parkour". One of my favorite things to do while idling between missions is to jump on roofs and stuff.

...Okay, now I'm in the mood for an Acrobat.
The guy who likes to experience every class. Except Fighter >:[ I don't like you Fighter.
Hey Devs! Let's give Warpriests and Eldritch Knights some loving, kay? :<

Nothing will run and jump better than the build I posted - kama's will let you stay centered and use monk abilities
And as mentioned you could still use Scimitar's - you just wont get monk bonuses

the rogue 13/monk 7 build is pretty much the ultimate speed machine.. mine is currently only 7monk/7rogue but with the monk bonus to running speed & showtime ability from acrobat1 he's blindingly fast at moving about & attacking with quarterstaff, even better with rogue haste boost active.. cant wait to see him at cap
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

It does not have abundant step or sprint boost

I would definitely try and fit thief acrobat 1 in there for the show-time ability.
    12/7/1 Monk/Rogue/Ranger
12 Monk gives you a decent speed boost and abundant step
7 Rogue gives you thief acrobat 1 and its show-time ability and 1 more d6 SA compared to 6 rogue
1 Ranger gives you Sprint Boost and non-UMD wand use

Go Elf if you want to use longswords while centered
Go Drow if you want to use short swords while centered
Or stick with handwraps, which fit the Parkour theme better than other weapons. Hard to run, jump and climb with weapons in each hand.
