Default WF Barb Splashing 2 in Rogue.

I've considered splashing 2 in rogue as a frenzied berserker for both Evasion and Rogue haste (which apparently stacks with haste). What will I lose and what will I gain if I do this? Will it be worth it?

You've already said the most important thing you'll gain from it... Evasion is very useful, and the minor attack speed boost is pretty nifty . You'll also get the ability to maximise UMD skill so you can make use of more buffing & healing wands, as well as a whole load of extra skillpoints (assuming you take rogue at 1st level) - i'd recommend pumping a few into balance too maybe.

You'll lose Mighty Rage (+8 STR & CON, +4 to will saves before extras from enhancements) & the capstone, Barbarian Might (+2 stacking STR, extra glancing blow damage & proc chance)

Both are totally viable options, so its a simple toss-up between top-edge persistent DPS or greater survivability against AoE spells with slightly increased versatility, go with whatever you prefer
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

In addition to what FuzzyDuck81 said, you better have a decent Dex to benefit most from evasion. If you started with only 8-10 Dex you won't get as much benefit as with, say, 16 base.

I've been very happy with that same build. In fact, there are many 18/2 WF Barbs/Rogues around.

and I have the template I built this guy off of (and everyone will have an opinion... but this has worked great for me) if you want to take a peek.

Have fun...and if you are on Ghal, look me up.

I would also suggest starting from the beginning. Whenever a rogue is splashed the first level should be rogue. On a barb it works out to 24 more skills points in key cross class skills like balance and UMD. Also, if you want to do traps and keep those skills up and decent INT will be required.

Oh btw, you also get 6.5 average sneak attack damage, which isn't bad.

And you don't necessarily need to reroll to splash Rogue, as long as you can get the skills that matter to you.

Evasion and haste boost are really the good features of the build. Open lock can also get useful ranks, as barb levels are a suprisingly good source of skill points. UMD is kind of meh on a barb splash class, as you need to drop out of rage to scroll cast anything and you probably don't want to make that great of an investment into charisma.
