    Default Song Targeting.

I had a couple of questions about the targeting of songs and their ranges.

    1. Is the AoE of songs like Fascinate centered on the Bard or on the target of the Bard?

    2. What is the reach of the Party buffs? Do group members need to be really close?

    3. When are targets selected? Do they need to be in the AoE at the start of the song, the end or sometime in between?

    1. Fascinate and Inspire Courage songs are PBAoE, or Point Blank Area of Effect... meaning centered on the Bard. Inspire Competence is Single-Target and cannot be self-targeted.

    2. Not sure about this one personally, I remember reading something about 3x Haste diameter. Hopefully someone else can provide confirmation or a better answer here.

    3. Bard song effects are applied when you stop playing and start stuffing your lute away.

The range of the Bard buff songs is quite large.

Basically there are 2 volume levels that others hear the song at, full blast and half volume.

If they can hear the songs full blast, they are in the AoE of the buffs.

Fasinate is centered on you , but there sometimes problems if you had a target that moved out of your range or dies durring the song. (Same with all songs really)

    Thanks for the feedback.

I was able to get much better use out of Fascinate last night. Knowing that I could fire up the song as I was running towards the group of mobs really helped out.

Provided everyone stays together you can do your buff songs while running, too. Saves a bit of time.
