Default Valhalla PD Guild Smashes Tempest Spine

Tonight on the Ghallanda server seven adventurers of levels -12 went into Tempest Spine with high hopes, and were rewarded for their bravery. The quest went without a hitch. None of the players involved even went below Half HP.

    Roster:

    KGGaelen: level 12 (8Pal/2Rng/2Rog)
    Snakess: Level 10 (8Pal/2Ftr)
    Limmi: Level 12 (10Pal/2Ftr)
    Creepyblade: level 9 (9Ftr)
    DocDustoff: Level 12 (12Clr)
    HDiii: Level 11 (11Wiz)
    HWilliams: Level 11 (11Brd)

Fire and Ice went smothly, even after I took a wrong turn and dragged all of the giants back to the treasure room barrier. We cleaned up the trsh there and bolted as a group down to Fire, taking him down with plenty of time to spare.

The first beholder went down smooth as well, Snakess saved against a disentigrate, and the beholder had little else to throw as he was dead soon after.

The Bridge to the Inevitable was very smooth, body pulling cleared the front partof the room, and then we pulled the Marut. He went down much easier than anticipated. Mostly thanks to keen Spell casting from HDiii.

We Buffed, went in to fight sorjek, and KGGaelen held Agro on the giant while the Puzzle was completed. We got all the runes in their respective pots, and began to beat down.

Then he stomped, and all seven of us went flying off into the heavens. Luckily KGGalen and I(Snakess) were close to the first doorway, and set up a rally point. A DDoor thrown by HWillians made it easer for the rest of the scattered troops to make it back to the beginning, and we got together and made our way back up, the second time defeating Sorjek handily.

Kudos goes out to the guys in our Guild that have worked hard to get their toons ready for this raid, along with CreepyBlade for successfully completing the raid in the first group he tried it with.

We will be preping another group, and going in again very, very soon.

Here, are some Pictures I tok, including an action shot or two:

    Smashing a Golem...

    Preping to Rush the Marut...

Victory! (If you look at the Chatbox, you can see HDiii Pulled a Con tome!)

Yes, it was a seven man run - and we are planning on going back again. We are also in the process of tagging for Von's.

This was possibly one of the smoothest runs of TS I have undertaken. One of the goals I had in mind when I formed VPG was to run raids and such within a PD framework. This group took this quest in a rule-set where we do not use the AH - the Brokers - buy magic - or trade gear with guild members. This run - combined with our recent forays into the Desert and Gianthold have been very rewarding (not just in gear).

We are already talking about taking a second team into TS and beyond.

Bet HD was Very Excited to Loot that +1 Tome then huh? So do you guys just destroy your gear rite out of your Inventory since you cant buy or trade anything anyway? Is there any point in selling to bartenders? well I guess Buying the Drinks from the Barkeep might be Useful, But if thats the only reason to actually sell your items then screw that

You can trade items in chest ---- HD traded the tome to one of the tanks who need the HP more than he - which is a pretty good example of what our guild is about --- we really try to work together for the good of the group.

We do end up selling a lot of stuff --- but common items for casters are expensive as are Deneith items - you can buy Favor buffs etc --- but most guys end up with a lot of money--- no big deal.

Nah we sell all of our loot. We can buy components if we are casters, and we can buy the ever important at low to Mid level Buffs from house P and house J.

What we really save our money for though is Medium bags. Collectibles are a nightmare with only a small bag, and turning them in is very important to our playstyle.

Oh, and we have a stock of portable holes that we give out to players that reach level ten and 875 favor. So we use some of our dough to expand our inventory too...oh and the bank.

So yeah there are reasons to have money.

Gratz on the PD Tempest run! I remember crushing it pretty good on normal in Mortal Voyage about a year ago. And then we crushed it harder on hard. Not sure if we ever ran it on elite, but something tells me we did.

We haven't run it yet in The Core. We have level 11-13 characters, though not enough to fill a whole raid, but we're still not quite ready for an attempt at Tempest. Since we don't use shrines, the longer the quest is the harder it proves to be. Just as our FOUR failed attempts at Stormcleave elite demonstrate. Would be a cake walk with level 9 if you can use the half dozen shrines in there. And Tempest can be brutally long, so trying to conserve mana in a VERY LONG raid on Hard difficulty has scared our high levels off for now. But I figure once we get more ppl in the level 10 range, we'll give it a shot.

PD play is good for you : )
