    Default Normal, Hard, Elite, Benefits?

I understand that as you increase the difficulty of an adventure/dungeon the monsters get a bit harder, and you get more favor. But, is there any other benefit? Is the quest worth more Exp? Do you get better, or more, loot?

The quest will grant a 1 time +25% XP bonus for hard and a 1 time +50% XP bonus for elite for the first time you go through on those difficulties. As well the loot is given a 1 level increase for each difficulty you go up.

A level 5 quest will give level 7 loot on elite. Also if you are running with higher level characters, you can go back and do lower level quests on elite, as long as you are not 2 levels higher than the quest, with no penalties (other than the repetition penalty)

So, a level 5 quest on elite can be run by level 8 characters with no penalties. But if you bring a level 9 character in, you get a -10% XP penalty, level 10 would get -25% XP, and so forth.

Yea hard is +1 on the loot table, elite +2.

So if you run a level2 quest on elite, you'd get equivalent loot to running another level4 quest on normal.

Base xp also increases, tho usually a fairly minor increase 2-6% per lvl.

Raids have ncrease chance of raidloot. 1/6 on normal, 1/5 on hard, and up to 1/4 on elite - but not all raids scale that high on elite.. Such as Titan, which may scale from only 16% to 17% chance, but not the full 25% - due to the fact the raid itself is barely any hard on elite. Dragon is the only one that was confirmed to go up to the full 25%. Others are unknown.

    1st time normal = XP+10%
    1st time hard = XP+25%
    1st time elite = XP+50%

First time Normal is +25% (same as Hard).

The base XP, however, is +7.5% on Hard and +15% on Elite. Elite offers the most favor.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

No it is not. That may be true for 1 quest you looked at. But every quest varies in how much the base XP scales up. Some are as litle as +3%, others as high as +15%.

Regardless, if your not getting a first time bonus, the very small increase on hard and elite is never worth it for XP alone. Tho if your going for loot it can be.

The 100%/107.5%/115% was correct prior to Mod 9. If it has changed since then, it will likely have only changed in some quests, making it still at least a useful rule of thumb.

Gah... I keep forgetting that the base XP calculations all changed.

    *grumble*

No. That is just some made up set of percentages that never applied to the game, module 0 - 9. Most quests base XP was not modified between 8 and 9 anyways.
I looked at a bunch in the compedium and I infact can't find a single quest that confirms that rule, or even any that get +15% at all. Most are lower.

Hound of Xoriat (XP unchanged since it was released in module 7)
    8200/8500/8800
    100%/104%/107%

Escort the Expedition (old quest which was changed by 1XP for some unknown reason)
    5,699/5,993/6,288
    100%/105%/110%

Madstone Crater (quest which was greatly reduced in mod9)
    6,969/7,268/7,567
    100%/104%/109%

There's no exact patern. Other then to say none of them increase very much.

OK, that's interesting, once I was told that rule applied and checked it in 10 or so quests, and it was exactly correct for them all.

Must have been a coincidence as to which ones I picked.
