    Default Tactical / Strategy Enhancements

    What elements of a build promote good asunder, trip, stunning blow, or even sap response?

    (I don't care if you personally don't like them -- how do I maximize their effectiveness?)

    * Maximum STR

    * being either Dwarf or Warforged due to racial enhancements

    * Fighter enhancements

    * indirect Barbarians Rage, as it raises STR massively.

    WF/dwarf barbarian... wf tactics and ridiculous strength while raging.


    IMHO, a splash of 2rogue for evasion gives you so much defensively that it's worth it to lose 20barb. You can still get frenzied berserker II at 18 barb. But now we're nitpicking. The answer to your question is a WF barbarian.

    Enhancements are not functioning. Haven't been for well over a year. The developers do not seem to give a ****. I've posted about it many times, never a response.

    Strength, vertigo weapons, period.

    Wait, what? Does anything help them? Do you just mean enhancement bonus to strength doesn't help, or strength doesn't help 'at all'?

    Sorry, VKhaun. Guess that wasn't clear. There are fighter enhancements you can pick up to improve your trip DC. These are broken and do nothing. There are racial enhancements you can pick up (warforged and dwarf) to improve your trip DC. These are broken and do nothing. Has been that way for over 18 months now, not that Turbine give a ****.

    So I was saying high strength and a weapon with the vertigo effect are the only ways to increase your trip DC. Or you can invest in Improved Trip, but that requires Combat Expertise first, and CE requires a natural 13 intelligence.

    If you're thinking Mod 9: Kensai

    They get to add a +1 to all their DCs per tier of the PrE. Power Surge will also add to the DCs. And they get access to the generic fighter DC boosts.
    Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

    I had a tactical/intimitank warforged barbarian at one point, 14Brb/2Rog. With combat expertise and improved trip topped with a serrulae and I dont think he ever failed a trip, the bad new was he didnt have greater 2wf, and was only around 550hps raged.

    I2wF
    Imp Trip
    Power Attack

    In hindsight(always 20/20) I wish I kept him around to get G2wF at 18.

    Are you absolutly sure that this hasnt been fixed. I remember it vaguley, but thought that this was fixed a long time ago.

    This is very important for me, as i was just in the progress of rolling up a Combat Tactics build. Would have send him the tome package in about half an hour. If this bug still is active it changes the complete build, and even if i still would want to try such a character.


    And then another question arises: If they cant get the regular tactics enhancements to work, what about the tactics part of the Kensai Prestige Enhancement?

    It was fixed some where in mod 4 or 5. It became so powerful that my tactics fighter can trip Titan and stun lailat. Then they stealth nerfes it so that red and purple names cannot be affected

    IMO tactics are excellent in areas before GH. With GH there are more mobs with better saves as well as weird pathing. Come vale stuff, the dps a toon can do dramatically increases with the use of GS weapons that tactics are often redundant. Add teleporting mobs, it's less of a good investment

    My fighter has a trip DC that cannot be saved against even on a 20 by anything except high level spiders and frost giants, although they also fail quite often. Everything else goes down and stays down. Quest difficulty has no effect on this since even though general saves go up with difficulty, strength score does not. And he doesn't even have all the enhancements for it. As far as stunning blow, how many casters have any spell they can cast with a fortitude DC of 38 (can buff with rage and scourge choker up to a current maximum of 43)? Majority of stuff I stun, even high end on elite, usually fails. And except for the spiders and giants, they always fail against my trip. Teleporting mobs dont teleport when stunned or tripped, although they still do when sapped.

    Tactical has a base DC of 10+ 11 (str) + 4(fighter) + 3 (wf) + 1 (kensai)= 29 w/o item
    + another 3 with his barbarian rage and + 10 with weighted 5 % for 42
    in one more lvl i can get Kensai II for another + 1 and +4 with power surge for 47
    that's not including rage spell and madstone

    PS: at lvl 20 i get another 1 str, then with a 2 tome i can get another + 1 to dc =)
    and then i'm also gonna get frenzy for another addition +1 =)
    fully buffed i can get my Stunning blow DC to over 50!!!!
    PS: Greensteel RUINED the game! and you all know it!

    My bad. I think the tactical enhancements are only broken if you've invested in Improved Trip (like I have, grrr )

    From the Known Issues post:

    Improved Trip's DC is not being increased by anything other than Strength bonuses. Tactics and Strategy Enhancements are not being taken into account.

    It was not fixed in any of the patches. It appears the others are working fine.
