This would be my suggested build. Not any bells and whistles but meets build criteria. Allows for master of wind and water stances, rise of the phoenix etc. I added in 2 +1 tomes just to even stats out at level 16 but are not required to build plus it gives you something to shoot for. Also can grind out 1750 favor (which may take a while) for a +2 tome which i would probably add to Con. to allow for higher tier Earth stances.

I just finished leveling my pure drow monk to 16. I very highly advise going the first two tiers of wind and water stance so u can throw ur buffs without waiting for cooldowns and going all three tiers for fire stance as ur main stance. U will be highly self sufficient as u will always have a ton of KI and if u keep spamming Fists of Light u will hardly ever need heals.

I solo'ed a lot, and I mean A LOT with my monk, and never ran into any huge issues while doing so. I am also able to contibute greatly to parties as I always throw my one minute buffs and mass heals.

While u will attack quicker and can generate KI nicely with wind stance, there is no comparison to the amount u will generate in fire stance.

Looking at the build 164 hp looks a little anemic. That can be a little hard to sustain with those harder hitting mobs.

Yep, u definately want Toughness as one of ur feats and both tiers of Racial Toughness in the enhancements. First two tiers of Way of the Patient Tortiose will get u an additional 10 hp's.

This is another reason I said go with Fire Stance, u won't lose the two points of CON as u do in Wind Stance.

ok i understood some of what your saying

but i like the sound of fire stance

but what stance is the one that does and dmg and heals?

idk any of these stances of what they mean or what they do

    im a noob

please explain the differences and what stats i neeed for them.

Also would it be better to use Kamas / khopeshes or Fists/ Handwraps

/agree but considering a +6 con item is +44hp , greater false life 30, +16 rage pot,+20 minos legions +45 shroud item = 155 + 164= 319. all but the last of these is relatively easy to aquire. Oh and favor grind a +2 tome for Con= 335 at level 16 +60hp at level 20= 395.

300 hp is my personal benchmark for my light tanks.

I believe you are only losing a max of 42 hp without toughness with this build.

Also you can go patient tortise for more hp, but i do not reccomned this becuase you will be primarily in wind or water stance and would be depending primarily on you elegant crane + stunning fist for your ki generation.

Weighted handwraps are slated to be fixed in mod 9 whenever that is ( I know, i know im still waiting for WoE to be fixed also.). This will add significantly to you ability to stunn and kill mobs quickly. Your stunning fist DC should be 10 (base) + 16(level) + 9 (wis mod) +10 (weighted 5%)= 45.

In elegant crane you generate ki off of criticals. Use your stunnnig fist ability to generate ki and kill trash mobs quickly. This will give you plenty of ki for red named bosses etc.

P.S. the best DPS stance is greater wind stance IMO because of the significant number of increased attacks. more attacks = more dps. This is why twf is better atm then thf.

lastly forget khopesh if you are building a monk. If you want a str based monk go dwarf imo. and get greater fire/earth stances.
