    Default Enervation Build, Doable?

Since we wont kill with WoP anymore, i was trying to figure if there was another way to melee a mob to death without damage...

    Negative levels.

Now, is there a build possible to use that method?

There is 2 ways to inflict negative levels with a melee weapon:
    1- Shroud Enervation weapon (neg-Fire)
    2- Dreamsplitter.

Now, the Greensteel weapons proc at a rate of 5%. A 5% chance to give 1d4 neg levels is just not as strong as Vorpals, who kill 5% of the time. Even dual-wielding, Vorpal still wins.

Let's check out Dreamplitter. Now, the splitter also as a 5% rate, but it can be increased to 10% with imp critic Blunt. A Kensai 3 fighter will even be able to get it to 15% (18-20 roll).
Still rather weak considering the weapon type.

The best i could think of was:
Fighter Kensai 3, with improved crit, a dreamsplitter, and Stunning Blow to get auto-crit.

    Anyone as a better idea?
Or is it just a lost cause?

Its a lost cause although I suspect that casters will be using the dreamspitter more next mod after stoning or holding mobs instead of w/p. I have a q-staff thief acrobat which is the best character with the dreamspitter. The neg levels just proc to low. The green-steel weapon would go off only slightly more then dreamspitter if dual wielding. This is not going to remotely come close to w/p.

beware, I found out a long time ago that characters built around the idea of gear are a bad idea. Like attempting to build a character around a vorpal. Weapons are just tools that in the hands of any solid, well rounded character are useful but not and end unto themselves.

Consider the funtionality of a quaterstaff specced fighter.

currently any well built rogue or caster can do what u want. My caster is not even battle specced an does an excellent job at hold monster + dreamsplitter = enervation. It was a byproduct of what I had available, not planned and not my main focus of attack, but sometimes its cheaper than other spells.

Mmm, with crippling strike, wouldn't a rogue place the mob into auto-crit at some point?

14barb with crit rage II, 6 rogue acrobat for speed bonus

Makes it a 17-20 crit, 5-10%speed increase, still decent regular damage(don't forget the 3d6+6 sneak), glancing blows(wonder if the lifesteal works on them), trapskills, umd, evasion, probably go forged for the glancing blows and pa enhancements. Throw on 3 enervation guards and have fun.

    Tactical is already doing this
either i stun with weighted 5% + stunning blow first or just i just go all out dreamspitter
eitherway, works pretty well for him =)
PS: Greensteel RUINED the game! and you all know it!
    less buffing, more nerfing!!!
to make it easier for those of you that wants to avoid me in game, all my characters are in "Bladesworn Mercenaries"
