    Default Mouse movement

    Good day and salutations,

I'm currently using the 10 trial, and for what I'm seeing so far it looks to be a enjoyable game.

I did have one major question, is there anyway to use your mouse for primary movement, i.e. moving forward, turning left and right…. Unfortunately I'm really used to the way that I'm able to use my mouse to move in WoW, LoTR, and Warhammer.

Is there anyway to do this with DDO?

Thanks for any help in advance. Also if there was a post that addressed this topic, please forgive me as I couldn't seem to find one with the search function.

do you have a little roller thingy on your mouse? (the thing in between the left and right clicky things)

If so you can go to Key mapping, then scroll down to auto-run, and set it to the little roller thingy. then ya can turn it on and off by clicking the roller.

In the keymapping settings there are various settings to control how all this works, and I believe there is a setting that mimic's how WoW is set up, but I haven't played with it that much.

Options > Keymapping > Some of the very first options.

    I sort of do that...

I think I hold down the left mouse button to auto-look (the right button is attack), and then I have autorun assigned to one of the thumb buttons on the side. So I can turn and look around while holding down the left mouse button, and start and stop running using the thumb button. I usually use WASD for movement though, I just like having autorun in a convenient place.

    I recommend the N50 or N52 speedpad.
I've been using one for everything since AC1 (including WOW).

Actually, I guess this is a better link:

I VERY RARELY use my keyboard IG anymore.
And having my left hand up on the table top in a nice comfortable position along with my right make long 6 hour play sessions a breeze.

just a update, when i finally got a chance to play last night, I used "t" to place myself in targeting mode and it made a huge difference. I still need to remap a few more keys, but all and all I'm really starting to enjoy the game even more.

Thanks again for all the help!

The very first thing I did once I got ingame was change the right and left mouse buttons. So now I can hold right-click to look around and move, and left-click to attack.

The other way was just too confusing for me =/

How are you setting the mouse buttons to be able to hold then move around (like mouselook)? When I tried to do that it wouldn't let me...said I can only set the 0 and 1 mouse buttons to interaction commands....

This is very annoying having to hit T every time i want to move using wasd and the mouse for turning.

I went in and basically flip flopped what they had as default for the right and left mouse buttons. Only made those two changes...I still have to right click to open doors, talk to and npcs, etc...

By default, while holding down the Left mouse button you will be put in mouselook mode. Personally, I use 'T' because it is very rare I need to leave/re-enter mouse look. But I spend 99% of the game in mouselook.
