If you read the questgiver dialog when you sign up for The Shroud, you'll see what he means.

The message only appears once per character, when you first get that raid quest.

Just like if u havent completed Tempest Spine then The Stormreaver raid the game plot has not been advanced to open the reavers refuge

OK First off i beat it legit and then started exploiting it way back when, so i qualify for that and u are an idiot. Not saying it is unbeatable (Just beat it last night on elite actually) but with a group EXTREMELY experianced. To say that every person on the SERVER has to beat those terribly designed and obnoxious puzzles that takes some experianced groups days and weeks to complete is rediculous.

Abbot before entrance to 12
Shroud before entrance to Subterain
Hound and VoD before whatever the mod9 followup is

Tempest and Von6 before Reaver
Reaver before entry to Reavers Refuge
SoS before any mod 9 followup

might make grouping a bit more of a pain, but it would make sense from a story point of view.

Well of course you were being sarcastic... but now that you brought it up... what a great idea, Devs go do it so the storyline makes sense

yeah on a side note i would be a huge fan of that , so many of the stories seem unconnected,
but my point is you ARE bypassing a quest mechanic IMO by not doing the abbot, which doesnt become a problem until you start accusing others.

I just saw this message today on my newly flagged rogue, and it doesnt say "Congratulations on your victory over the abbot" or anything like that. The guy says something to the effect of "the abott got killed somehow, and the power he released is doing blahblahblah".

Seems a nice loophole to allow characters to ignore the broken raid and go straight to grinding for scales while still being true to the story

it doesnt happen when you flag it, happens when you finish the "meridia" quest.

Any news when the "fixes" mentioned by our illustrtoius Dev will go into play? I didn't see anything more than he corrected many things mentioned in the last pass of his work.

Oh yeah, and for those with OCD...just think of the Shroud as some OTHER dopes did the quest which caused the mess. If you do it later, obviously you are trying to fix his reattempt for good this time.....
