Default DEX breakpoint on DT armor

i have a 30 str ranger with a 26 dex that currently uses the crip chain but loses a bit of dex bonus. i dont have the icy on this fella and am not sure if it would even be the best choice. leather is +8 dex right? so with the runes can i make a set of DT leather that would benifit this toon more in the AC department than the crip chain? or would the icy or the crip chain still be best choice here? seems like there is a middle ground here, but *** do i know?

I don't remember the exact numbers (just look them up if you need an exact answer), but I'd say DT is best for you. That's assuming you don't have chattering ring and thus can aim at +3 dodge from DT.

DT leather lets you get up to 7 dex which is 1 better then the crippling chain.

If you get +5 protection on tempest and crippling on sovreign you will be 2 points ahead of where you are with the crippling chain. That still leaves you a eldrich slot to fill.

I would say until you got the IR, and a few other pieces of gear, the DT leather will be better for you.

    i was thinking - sov- +3 dodge
    temp- +5 protect
eld- +5 resist, DB, or healing amp

so over the chain thats +2 dex, +1 protect, +3 dodge for a +6 over the crip chain plus either DB or +5 resist which frees up another slot for another GS item maybe.

downside is losing the crip part.

    do i have that right?

What is the base Armor value (no DEX) for DT Leather?

    Thanks in advance.

8 AC + the 7 Dex makes it 15 total, so assuming you can fill the DEX its no better or worse AC wise than the crippling CS (9+6=15) or the Destruction BP(10+5=15). You do get a chance at better effects though. If you got the +5 Pro and the +3 Dodge, you would be +4 better AC than the crippling CS.

If you look, all of the DT armors 2 more AC than normal, making them the same AC as what people would normally look for in Mithral, but without the extra DEX requirement and not lowering the armor weight category.

The sucky part is that the leather and its 7 dex is the only light armor. Wish there was a CS.
