Default Severe Water Shortage in Stormreach

After some experimentation I think I may have figured this out. Pure water may drop from adventurer packs, rubble, bookshelves. The drop rate seems related to the difficulty level. So the fastest technique seems to be farming the Bonebite Hideout on elite level. I tried my capped wiz and my capped cleric, both work fine. I kind of prefer my cleric because soundburst, inflict serious mass, and even bladebarrier with quicken let me clear out the kobalds pretty quick. There is a shrine right there if you need it. I use a second account to refresh the instance quickly. I am getting plenty of prayer beads and other needed items for the rituals.

I still wonder, is the drop rate higher on the elusive Alchemy Tables?

<strike>I posted about this recently but didn't get a satisfactory answer, so I'll try again.

I am looking for Vials of Pure Water, used in the Alchemical Armor Eldritch Ritual for +1 dodge. I believe pure water only drops from bookshelves and alchemy tables. Unless it has a really low drop rate elsewhere. I believe alchemy tables have the best drop rate but I'm not sure. I have checked most of the remaining harbor quests and can't find any alchemy tables. (Not in Baudry's, Ringleader or WW, which were responses I got earlier.)

This is not an Amber Vial, which drops all over. That is a different collectable.

I can't go to Korthos Island to look for Pure Water, because I was born in Stormreach several weeks ago. Or did they fix that? I haven't heard anything.

So, where can I farm Vials of Pure Water? I'm parched!</strike>

#3 location: Monastery of the Scorpion
    #2 location: Kobold's New Ringleader

    And...

#1 location: Auction House. (Disclaimer - minor costs involved)

I believe that anything that can give you the Amber Vials also can drop Vials/Pure Water. I know I've gotten vials in some pretty oddball places as well as the tables.

(I have seen no collectables dropping in Korthos even after returning there from Stormreach...)

    Hhmmmm.... Ghallanda. Lemme go check.

The Pure Water drops from the same locations as the Amber Vials. It is just less common.

AH is way over priced. I'm sure they drop in the locations that you mention. You just need to be willing to run them often.

Korthos does not have any collectibles at all. It won't help to go there. However, you can if you desire. The bug has been fixed.

Run more lowbies through the harbour and you'll find tonnes. I find about three or four per day...btw check all collectable spots, its random now where they drop (or so i've noticed)

To a certain degree anyway. I spent a little while poking different spots and while I'm still getting exclusively bottles (amber/water/contagion) from cabinets, and I also got them occasionally from some rubble and a <backpack or moss>.

To be honest, the fastest way to get them in large is to run a Shroud, sell all the loot you get (including ingredients), and buy twenty Vials with the plat you get selling the Shroud stuff. (20 assumes you get a Large Shrapnel - if you win the DDO lottery and get a Scale, you'll get 50 vials of pure water for it).

That's why I put the AH as the #1 way to get them.

Farming Kobold's New Ringleader is less fun, takes longer, but will get results. And you are probably already running Monastery of the Scorpion, but they have a low drop rate there.

IMO best place by far is Alchemist's Laboratory (Goodblade's Healing Elixir).

~2 minutes, 3 alchemy tables (drop amber vials, vials of pure water, or vials of contagion only) and 1 rubble.

On elite you usually get about 1 water every run.

That was indeed the best spot pre-Mod 8.

    No collectibles on Korthos, however.

D'oh. Haven't made a new character since Mod-8, didn't realize they'd completely removed goodblades. Ah well.

    Default Ww

fwiw, I did a run of Waterworks a while back with a young kid and she picked up SIX Vials of Pure Water on one run. I re-running it, my experience is more like 1 per run, so for pure farming this isn't very efficient. But if you're leveling a lowbie, the combination of fast XP and a chance at Pure Water is pretty good.
