Air Elemental Fun

So I'm running around the desert with a friend. We don't know the area very well and are just exploring and looking for chests. We come to an area with a bunch of rock outcroppings and around a corner see two air elementals. My friend banishes one but the second one saves. I attack with a pair of banishing weapons. With an attack bonus of +26, I can't hit it. It's not immune, I just miss miss miss. Of course, that's only when I can actually attack. Most of the time, I'm MAKING MY SAVE and but still being tossed around.

I'm not sure what making a save actually means since saving bounces me around but I succeeded every save and still can't get up.

Like any smart rogue, I decide to run away and leave my friend bleeding in the sand. Sorry!

But I can't run because I keep getting bounced around. I'm at full health, not taking damage, just getting bounced.

I stop trying to run. I drop the mouse, and sit back in my chair. I'm getting bounced from wall to wall and continue to roll saves.

I leave the computer and go get a drink. I come back, still at full health, still getting bounced around.

I head out to the back yard and chat with my kids a bit. I come back and, yup, still getting bounced around.

I alt-tab off the screen and check football scores. I watch some highlight videos and call my wife over to watch one.

I tab back and yup, still getting bounced around. But wait...I'm getting bounced to the north, away from the elemental spawn point.

Bah..bounced back south.

Oh! bounced north! and again...and again...

Bah...south.

I refill my drink.

I come back and see that I'm really far north....maybe I have a chance!

Finally, the elemental leashes and I can stand up.

What a fun encounter!
