    Default Stormreach Chronicle (9-23-08)

Welcome to the Chronicle - a weekly look at what's happening around the forums! Read on for tips, community spotlights, Turbine info, and more!

The following guilds are looking for more adventurers. Learn more about them here!

Aqua Teen Hunger Force, of the Argonnessen server
    Compendium Page: http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Aqua_Teen_Hunger_Force
"A guild of friends and family who like to have fun, we have open recruiting! Contact Rustea or Doktr ingame or visit our Compendium page."
The Iron Phalanx, of the Ghallanda server
    Compendium Page: http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Iron_Phalanx
"Just like the name implies we are a tight knit group that works well together to achieve a goal that benefits all. We are a raid based guild but also take the time to do other things or just have some good times. While we do wish all of our members to be active and participate we do also not want to impose requirements on our players each member has the right to do whatever they choose within the game. If you are interested in becoming a member please give us a short description of yourself on our web page both personally and some in game info like what characters you play and things like that or contact an officer in game."
    Loreseekers, of the Khyber server
    Compendium Page: http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/To_Hit_Armor_Class_Zero
"There is really no limit to what type of play you can do in Loreseekers. We have static groups, some are very much into roleplay, others are dabbling with permadeath. There are enough toons of each level to allow several groups every night doing nearly every level of the game. Rare are the occasions when everyone is so full as to make a guildie wait for a group or to PUG. However, we do also have folks that always reserve a few PUG spots in any group they run. We are always looking to find new players to group with, and will quest with anyone just for the experience. Please, feel free to check us out on our website, or look any of us up in-game!"
Die Loyalitat, of the Sarlona server
    Recruitment Thread: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=157859
"Looking for players who play for fun and are willing to respect one another. Joking is a plus, but please no racism. We have toons ranging in all lvl's of play and are experienced raiders."
The Muppet Show, of the Thelanis server
    Compendium Page: http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Guild:Inferus_SuS
"An upstarting starting guild for kids. Not looking for power games; Not looking for a boss come and play with; we're kids who are just looking for other nice kids to play with. You are required to be a kid. We're shooting for 12 and under, but will take up to 14. Come play with us."

Yes, but I doubt the devs will till you right now.

Otherwise, it is probably the solution to the last "Teloro is feeling spunky" or whatever that thread was playing her word games.

You gotta admit though, after reading 1 of the selections, I was very pleased with the player's introduction, intent & very sensible delivery of their build. Infact, I'm actually helping refine w/ideas for the build in that thread.

The other 2 builds were manageable too and nicely done, although the players didn't set up the introduction (at least 1 was lacking any type of charter to their character's build & reasoning).

But I agree, it would be nice for the header to be altered so there was NO misconception.

Exactly. As you know, I'm not complaining about the choices, given Tolero's previous explanation but just the presentation of the section.

Tolero Thanks for Mentioning our Guild! But we are actually known as 'The Iron Phalanx', TIP for short.

I tried to fix that to 'Iron Phalanx, The' but it did not take. Also we seem to have 2 postings which I made say the same thing

One is the one you linked to 'Iron Phalanx'
The other is our correct name 'The Iron Phalanx'

If anyone goes to either of those they get the same info.

What I think we know for sure
Your gonna get it by doing some kind of recipe that you will have to add to your armor (may or may not include helms, gloves, bracers, etc.) in the stone of change and/or one or more of the crafting alters.

What I think we don't know for sure
Is this something you will have to craft from a green steal blank? or is it something we can add to our +5 [INSERT YOUR FAVORITE UBER ARMOR HERE] that we are wearing right now?

    What it might do aka
My speculations (and suggestions if devs are listening) based on the DragonLance definiation of what 'Dragontouched' is
    1. In order for something to become 'Dragontouched' a dragon must give up a scale. Therefore my guess is that the main ingredient in the recipe is going to be dragon scales. Can you say "Scale Runs" boys and girls? Just when you thought it was safe to leave Gianthold and never look back!
    2. Gives 'Dragonsight' - The ability to see in the dark. I.E. a light around you for 60ft. Its like always having the ARC from Rainbow In The Dark on you. Could this mean we are going to get more quests that require us to carry a light source like in PnP?
    3. Gives Dragon Immunity - Immune to Sleep and Paralysis. Can't be paralyzed, that would be nice.
    4. Gives some amount of spell resistance. Who knows how much it will be.
    5. DIRECT FROM THE DRAGONLANCE DEFINITION - "All Dragontouched gain the ability to cast spells as a 1st-level Sorcerer. If the base creature already possessed levels in Sorcerer, then the Dragontouched's effective sorcerer level increases by +1." THIS IS A BIGGIE! Hard to say how or if they will do this in DDO. They could make it a clickie with a few charges per day on it and when activated it would allow you to pick the level 1 Sorc spell of your choice. Otherwise they are going to have to deal with giving non caster classes spell points and I don't see that happening. But lets just dream for a moment. What if any class had the ability to run around with level 1 sorcerer spells. No more need to make a warforged wizard. A pure warforged barbarian would be able to heal him or her self. WOW!
    6. AGAIN DIRECT FROM DRAGONLANCE - "Dragontouched qualify for any feat requiring Draconic heritage or Dragon Bloodline." Does this mean what I think it does? If this happens then that means that Drow and Warforged would be able to take Dragonmarks! And IMHO, this is the one point that I think is most likely to make it to Mod 8. I even remember hearing something mentioned on DDOCast that the Devs said about this coming to Mod 8. I believe they said anyone TOUCHED by the DRACONIC prophecy would be able to get dragonmarks in Mod 8. Hence 'Dragontouched'

Ok I'm done. I think that should add enough fresh rumors to the Mod 8 Speculation.

Now if Dragonmarks would not take three Feats to use, it would be worth it....

The rest of it sounds interesting.

This sounds great for speculation, but, and I hate to rain on your parade, but the last I looked, this wasn't Dragonlance. It was Eberron.

Now, if they want suggestions for more content. How about opening up a few more "wards" of Stormreach such as Cross, Southwatch and Oldgate.

For those of you who don't know, Cross it the ward BETWEEN The Harbor and The Marketplace. And as the "houses" are laid out, starting with House K and going counter-clockwise it would be House K, House J, House D, House P, Oldgate (behind the bank in the marketplace) then Southwatch (which is on the West side of town).

Just a guess. but isn't Mod 8 supposed to be undead dragons? Probably will have something to do with drops from those quests for the armor.

How/why was the Kensai Ranger thread linked? It more or less devolved into a flame-session with few relevant posts after the first page and a half.
