    Default Bard-barian?

In our tabletop D&D game I made a fighting Viking storyteller type. I liked the idea of a bard who, instead of playing an instrument, rouses the team by telling thrilling stories, pacifies the enemies with poetry, stuff like that. I thought that a Bard/Barbarian would fit the description. Thorvald was fun to run. "..with twenty foes on the left, and twenty on the right, he took up his mighty axe and....!"

Anyway, would a Bard/Barbarian be an effective build in DDO? I know I won't get to tell stories, but otherwise, what would it be like? Would it be good for soloing?
Got complaints about the in-game hirelings?

Kargon only ever saw one bard-barian, and it was pretty effectamive in both teams and soloing. was good for buffing melees then jumping into melee with them as a single target dps machine. tiny bit squishy, but not too bad. fascinate helps a lot with soloing, or so bard-barian tells kargon.

If you want to play a bard-barian, consider the Warchanter enhancement. Need 6 bard levels and some specific prereqs to get it, but can be quite nice for a melee bard.

I have a Bard-Barian character and he's a ton of fun. A dwarf Bard 8 Fighter 2 Barbarian 2 at the moment and he is something of a death machine. I think the only time he's been outkilled was by a TWF barbarian pick wielder who had the benefit of my buffs and was clearly a very solid build on his own.

It's tricky to play and build though. You will want to look around the bard forums for builds. If you seach for "fuzgut" you will find mine. He's not nessesarily the best build for the combo but he's a lot of fun. The Two Weapon Fighting builds are generaly a bit stronger in the long run.

Do we have Klingons in DDO?!

There are a few different bardbarian-type builds out there. Some are good, some are bad...some light splashes and some are deep. You are definately giving up all casting cc when you go that route, so it's a trade off.

    I have a build I posted:

That's, easily, my most enjoyable build outta all the toons I've rolled, capped and deleted over the last two years. Like most bardbarians, it's a tricky build to play... but it's definitely doable.
