Is there really any point in EVER specializing in using a Kama?
Is there really any point in EVER specializing in using a Kama?
I think the simple answer is no, but I do know a very efficient tank that uses Kamas(And am thinking about it myself, just for the fun of it
)
When they bring Monks in you will see the main reason. Monks can use your unarmed attack bonus while using Monk weapons, such as a Kama.
Gotcha, and i've heard something about swing speed? That true to any extent?
I don't know for sure, but I doubt that the Kama's swing speed is fast enough to make up for its blah combat skills. Even if you dual wield them you will not be getting the DPS as almost anything else. If some people play them for flavor thats pretty awesome, but that would be the only reason I see a non-monk class using them. Well maybe if you had a +3 vorpal or something crazy like that![]()
Actually thought about using em on a Rogue. Why? 1st reason decent Kama's tend to be dirt cheap as no one uses them. 2nd reason most of a Rogues damage comes from weapon effects and sneak attack damage anyways.

One of my buddies has a twf Kama user, and since kama's are "useless" he has every kama the guild has pulled...All the top end items in twos...+5 burst of right, ghost touch disrupt, vorpals of pg and so on. of course he has alot of characters, maxxed on both servers, before the merge, with lots of 1750 slots before they changed that...tough to keep those chars fully geared up if they all go khopesh ect.
A TWF ranger dual wielding kama's can quickly break up a sentence but my fighter would prefer to specialize in exclamation points to make a statement!
:-)
This is why everyone should use Kamas..![]()
