Default When Guild Houseing comes along...

When guild housing comes along, I'm hoping that one thing they do is go back and add trophies to display in the guild hall. For example, when you kill Velah, you can then display a mounted red dragons head somewhere in the hall. One per guild.

It would also be nice if they offered banners for the guild house, that you could pick from some premade designs, or use a design of your own, so that INSIDE the guild hall, it's personalized to your guild.

Being able to also decide what kind of interior would be cool as well. That was something in EQ2 about housing that was a nice touch. You could change the look of the walls and floors. So you could have stone or wood or plaster walls.

Being able to customize the look of guild halls would be great.

Even more interesting would be a lobby where your trophies are on display with a plaque saying Normal, Hard, Elite, that anyone can come and see.

Or, you know, anyone who plays LotRO?
Have a question about the Eberron Setting?
    Ask a Loremaster.

I downloaded the LOTRO manual. It talks about housing. It only has the banking ability with premissions. Other than decorating your new guild pad that is all they offer. Humm.. Steal the coding and let's make DDO's verson better. Hehe..

IMO guild housing would be pointless if

A: Others outside the guild could not come inside

B: You could not display your treasures, ie. that Dragon scale armor or that Vorpal sword. Meaning your loot must at least be visible. Trophies would be included here.

They could make trophies and Quarion could hand you them while soemoen snaps a screenshot that would be become your banner for a day or so.

Like First Guild To Beat (insert raid name) On (insert difficulty).

And yes ppl would have to be able to come in and have a look. maybe list all the guilds with guild halls and you ahve to select which one to go into.

As for the people not being allowed inside your house. In EQ2 they also had the option as to weather you want your house Public or Private. If its Private then only people on a list you made would be able to enter. If its public well its public and any one can enter. however there was a separate list for the people you wanted to be able to actually move, place or take items in your house. They could do the same type of thing here so you could show off your pretty house to all your friends (or gloat about it to your enemy's )

So to you the entire point of guild housing is PR? Man, if your gameplay hasn't generated enough PR, no decoration is gonna do the trick.

The Tinted Faces demand a fortress, with a big moat. And a dungeon, with manacles to lock up Ozoro when he gets drunk. And a throne room, with grand tapestries and carpets.

Additionally, the Tinted Faces demand a Hall of Fame (or Infamy, in our case).

Not only that, you can make your own custom decore! I totally did. It was great, I took drawings I did, scanned them, and made custom wall papers, and would make one with my art framed so I could paint the walls, then paint one of them with the art work, and it was cool!
