Default I wish they spent as much time on DDO as.....................

Well, Since everyone seems to be leaving thanks to the stagnation of DDO developers. I thought i would take a look at LOTRO, First off they are already up to their third Mod update, While DDO has been out for almost 2 years an we are up to 5 now. Here are a few other things thay they did with their new up date.

Book 11: Twelve chapter epic quest arc!
    Monster play enhancements
    Monster play “Warband Maneuvers”
    More musical instruments!
    More high-level world content
    Harvest Festival and Yule Celebrations!
    60+ new quests!
    New area: Tâl Bruinen (Trollshaws)
New area: Northern High Pass (Misty Mountains)
New area: Southern High Pass (Misty Mountains)
    And… Goblin-town!

When was the last time that DDO got 60 new quests in one Mod update.

Sorry i am just tired of running the same old **** day in and day out.

"get me X bear hides" is NOT a quest... it's really just the same old **** IMO.

    wish you the best though

When the extent of the quest is "go here, kill X mobs, kill named mob Y" it's not very hard to add 60 quests.

To be fair, sometimes it's go here, keep X mobs from killing Y named mob.

And sometimes it's go pick Z flowers.

But yeah, comparing quests to ddo quests is a mug's game.

Now, count *objectives* in each new quest, and you're comparing mangoes to mangoes. (Notta Bueno: Mangoes is a weird word). I don't have the number, but I bet it's close-ish to 60.
I play on Ghall...Gall..Galli...The new Fernia. Lifetaker, Heartbreaker, and Battlemage
Terrakal: Roguey Stabby guy. Gyness the Stout: I drink to hide my rage. Gyshe: Race: Elf. Class: Elf. Roomsweeper: Boomsticks. Ramparts: Pally Intimitank. Crucible: Hammer and Tongs. And Shafted: Cleric* Archer *Not a cleric.

I think LOTR is like WoW in the sence that 90% of the quests in WoW involve. "Kill 20 x and bring me 5 y"
And its the same over and over. You end up doing this through all 70 levels.

D&D is based off of modules and storyline quest. Its made that way because thats more like the real table top PnP that DDO trys to emulate. And it keeps the game from feeling repetitive.

I dont agree with their priorities either.
I do not know that much of what they do or why they develop the way they do.
Unfortunatly thats just the way they have decided to work.

Update as much as they can for LOTRO and do whatever they are doing for DDO.
How they came to the decisions they did is a mystery to all of us. The only thing I can do is keep playing DDO and hope they understand if they put the same kind of effort as stated above into DDO, this game would be bigger than LOTRO.
But thats just an opinion and may not actually be the truth.
At some point they went to the strategy of test things in LOTRO and then bring the best of that to DDO. Instead it should be a collaboration and cooperative effort. IN other words some things in LOTRO should be broght to DDO first and then to LOTRO and vice versa.
Instead its LORTO #1, probably because it has more subs and DDO second.
Below that is AC, dont forget that game is still around to.

Why do they do it that way? who knows, its a turbine thing.
Is that what they actually think. Who knows. I could be completely wrong on that..

Unfortunatly the perception is already there, if Turbine should do anything it should be to improve that perception. That would be the first step.
More than one person in DDO has stated they see LOTRO getting alot more attention than DDO.
But you have to remember LOTRO is SO much different than DDO.
    They say 60 new quests.
Well.... you have to remember they dont have as many private instances as DDO does. so 60 new quests could mean anything.
It could mean 60 new quests but 50 of them are "Go and find X amount of red gems and bring them back.."
And only the other 10 are actually quests that mean anything or are any fun.

LOTRO is perpetual, not 100% instanted like DDO is so its a bit of a different environment. So saying they get 60 while we get 15 is a hard comparison to make.

    But I see your point.
Who's the more foolish, the fool or the one who sends it a res.

Well we still have our: collect 20 tapestries, 25 dragons scales, 60 relics, shield pieces, tome pages, ect. Not like we don't have our share of grind content.
