    Cool Kopesh Duel Weilder

well i thought id make pally with duel weild capabilities. but i wanted it to be kopeshes. i meant for it to be more pally than ranger but guess i wanted those favored enemies enhancements a bit more. saves are nice buffed and unbuffed but not so sure about the str and dex. think i may hav made one or the other too low. he is mostly ment to tank though. so tell me wat u think.

This is a very quick-and-dirty alternative... I have not fully thought or fleshed this out, but I can't see 10 Rng / 4 Pal as a very sensible split for a melee class... 11/3 I could see for all the 2WF feats, and Pal for Divine Grace and Disease Immunity... but I'll throw up a Pal/Fgt alternative that should work out much better.

I would also suggest looking at my Paladin Build Guide at the Evasion Paladin section. You could easily take the stats here, with the 2WF feats, and the level-progression on the Evasion Paladin to come up with a good 2WF build... I don't have the time today to thresh one out...

    Str: 17 + 3 (Levels) + 2 (1750 Tome) + 1 (Human Str) + 1 (Fighter Str) + 6 (Item) = 30 (+10)
    Dex: 16 + 1 (Tome) + 5 (Item) = 22 (+6)
    Con: 12 + 6 (Item) = 18 (+4)
    Int: 8
    Wis: 9 + 1 (Human Wis) + 4 (Item) = 14 (+2)
    Cha: 12 + 2 (Paladin Cha) + 6 (Item) = 20 (+5)

Hit Points: 292 before False Life Item

    To Hit: +41 (BAB+Str+5Weapon+GH+AB+WF+DF)
    Damage: +18

    Saves: 30/26/22 - w/ +4 Resistance & GH

    AC: 42-50 Standing, Item Dependant
AC: 60-63 with buffs and party w/ Raid Loot

or 11 paly 2 fighter/ 1 rogue (for umd) human and you get full umd and all the 2 weapon fighting feats you want... I am at 6pal/1 fight right now and am tearring it up...the human gives you the extra feat space for kopesh

ya your stats are a non-starter..follow the lead of the above poster his stats are correct...you wont be dual wielding kopeshes for quit some time cause you wont hit anything untill you can get a greater heroism and a bard buff...say lv 7-9 at best case

+41 to Hit? I dont see how thats remotely possible...(BAB+Str+5Weapon+GH+AB+WF+DF)

    14 BAB
    10 STR Bonus
5 Weapon ( I hate adding +5 for Weapon but OK...)
    5 Greater Heroism
    -- AB? Whats AB?
    1 Weapon Focus
1 Divine Favor (L4 Paly is just +1)
    -4 Dual Weiling Kopeshes
    ---
+32 (Still Good.. But nowhere near +41)

In the Original Build, I'd dump Luck of Heros.. Your saves are more than fine without it. and Take Greater 2WF at L12 over Power Crit.

You have no HP at all. You only have 168. One hit in the end game and your toast. You can diss out damage but this build can not take it.

Who has 168 Hit Points? The Character Generator Doesnt add in for COn Items or False Life Items, or Dragonic Vitality.

    20 Heroic Durabiity
    40 L4 Paly
    80 L10 Ranger
70 CON Bonus (WIth +1 Tome and +5 Item)
    10 Dragonic Vitality

I was giving stats for my alternative build: 11P/3F, not his.

I forgot about the -4 for 2WF... but here is how it's 41

    14 - BAB
    10 - STR
    5 - Weapon
    3 - Divine Favor
    4 - Greater Heroism
    1 - Weapon Focus: Slashing
    5 - Attack Boost 4 / HV 4 Attack Boost
    ------
    42 To Hit
    -4 - 2 Weapon Kopesh
    ------
    +38 To Hit
    ------
    1 - Rage
    1 - Haste
    1 - Luck Item
    ------
+41 To Hit while 2-weaponing Kopeshes

And I think Good Hope or Inspire Competence might factor somewhere in there, along with a Battle Coin (Raid Loot)

Well once again - same build was posted in the ranger forums - You'd be better off with a much higher STR score and going 11 Ranger/3 Paladin. Level 4 Divine Favor and Virtue is NOT worth the loss of 30pt elemental resists. You also lose out on the free greater 2 weapon fighting (Which you cannot get with a starting 14 DEX.) and Improved Precise Shot.

If you really want a slashing focused dual weilding paladin you should seriously consider dropping kopesh and going elf. Dex is a cheap stat buy for them. They get racial AND class enhancements for longsword (Medium weapons + Dual Weild = big hit to your attack bonus) You should also go for an evasion paladin. You need a 17 Dex for the feats so you might as well take advantage of your godlike reflex save.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

Also remember your going to take a -4 to hit in each hand and only get half strength in the off hand... if you have power attack running that's -9 hope you like missing alot....

As well you'll need a 17 unmodified dex to get even improved two weapon fighting...

Really Pally is not the best class for a Two Weapon toon... just need to cover too many stats to give yourself the dex needed to get those 7 attacks that Greater two weapon fighting provides.

    'Make him a human and

    Change your stats around to:

    Str 18
    Dex 14
    Con 12
    Int 8
    Wis 10
    Cha 12

And the classes to 11/3 ::ranger/pally

Max Str, with a moderate focus on charisma and dex. The wisdom is going to do nothing but round out your saves(only way its more then a minor sp boost is with human versitility, a +6 item and +3 tome)

You'll get the entire TWF line, decent bow ability, great saves, evasion, decent DPS and some SP for resists and enough HP (20 base+10 favor+140 level+ 70 con+30 GFL+16 toughness+50 toughness enhancments+14 rage clickie= 350) to keep moving.

For skills, put as many points into UMD as you can and try to hit 20 so you can duel weild Choasblades.

Feats should be Toughness, Khopesh, PA, Skill focus: UMD, Improved Crit Slashing and Improved crit: Ranged

I would suggest giant, evil ousider and undead as your Favored enemies. Kinda has that paladin feel to it.

you dont need a high dex to get the ranger TWF feats.. As far as a too hit, the build i just posted would have a

    14 base
    10 str
    4 gh
    5 weapon(choasblades)
    1 haste
    _____
34-9from PA+2 khopeshs=25. Still enough in most quests. Not hitting? turn off PA. Easy as that.

Also, swinging though 2 choasblades you will never really need healing, and your AC will still be quite high with good saves

    10 base
    10 armor
    8 dex
    5 dodge
    1 haste
    4 natural
    2 pally
    5 protection
    __________
45, 49 with shield clickie, 52 with full pally&ranger, 55 with heavy shield, 60 with boost, 62 with recitation, 64 defensive fighting

    Str: 17 + 3 (Levels) + 2 (1750 Tome) + 1 (Human Str) + 1 (Fighter Str) + 6 (Item) = 30 (+10)
    Dex: 16 + 1 (Tome) + 5 (Item) = 22 (+6)
    Con: 12 + 6 (Item) = 18 (+4)
    Int: 8
    Wis: 9 + 1 (Human Wis) + 4 (Item) = 14 (+2)
    Cha: 12 + 2 (Paladin Cha) + 6 (Item) = 20 (+5)

Hit Points: 292 before False Life Item

    To Hit: +41 (BAB+Str+5Weapon+GH+AB+WF+DF)
    Damage: +18

    Saves: 30/26/22 - w/ +4 Resistance & GH

    AC: 42-50 Standing, Item Dependant
AC: 60-63 with buffs and party w/ Raid Loot

I was trying to provide you with what I thought would be a better option for your originally posted build. You stated that you originally wanted more pally for the build, so I was trying to give you a build that was closer to what you originally stated:

Your original build was a bit weak in the DPS department to maintain Aggro in order to "Tank", as you put it, nor did it really have the "Toughness" Enhancement (Paladins get Toughnes Enhancement) to really have the Hit Points to survive as a "Tank". I was trying to give you a build that would more do what you were asking for, and I don't believe that your original build would do that.

Now, if you wanted to stick with more Ranger than Paladin, then I can certainly suggest a stronger overall build for you for that. -Right off the top of my head, 17/14/14/8/10/14 going 11 Rng / 3 Pal, Kopesh, PA, Toughness, IC: Slash, WF:Slash as feats... (And I'm not sure if the stats are 32 points or not.. this is completely off the top of my head). If you want to Tank, you need hit points to survive, and DPS to maintain the Aggro. 14 STR 2WF Kopesh isn't going to really do that.
Dworkin, Benedict, Gerard, Vialle, Beldin... too many to list

    What a grade-A, collosal A55!

I was going to make some suggestions, seeing as how I've been dual wielding khopeshes for almost a year and have been doing so very well, to the point of having barbs ask me what the hell I'm doing to put out that kind af damage, but I can see the OP has no need of any assistance here.

I kind of thought that was the point of posting a build on the forums.

Not that it's any excuse, but the OP is only a kid, if his bio is at all accurate.

Okay, the OP has asked for my build and explained they didn't mean to come off the way I took the post, so I will go ahead and throw my build in here.

This is the character I used to hit my 1750 favor. You will need to have Drow unlocked, but that only takes a week or so if you grind it out. It does require some good equipment for the numbers I show, but I did not use any Raid loot or +2 tomes.

This build is a strength build, and can hit a 24 Str with a +6 Str item, or 26 with a +2 tome. It uses the khopesh, as not much except for THF can keep up with the damage output ability of dual khopeshes. I know you take a -4 to hit when using dual khopeshes, but the damage output is worth it, and with the UMD you can hit, you can throw up your own GH if there is not a caster around.

As far as armor, you want to stick with mith chain shirt or breastplate. This is to keep your evasion working. I know you only get 20pt resists till next cap raise, but believe me you really don't even need anything but acid and sonic, as you will evade everything else.

As for the tomes you need just 2, 1 Dex by level 5 for Imp and Grtr TWF, and a Cha tome whenever to bring your Cha up to a 20 before items. Couple this with a +6 Cha item, swapping out Weapon Focus for Skill Focus:UMD at higher levels, a GH, the Golden Cartouche, and your UMD is at +35, with a Rogue Skill Boost you're looking at a +37 (no fail on a Raise Dead) and Heal on a 3!

    Now onto your to hits.

Base attack will be 13 (BAB) + 7 (24 Str) + 4 (GH, self cast from scrolls) + 3 (Divine Favor) + 3 (weapon, could say 5, but lets be realistic as you will want some good damage modifiers) - 4 (TWF without light offhand) = +26

Doesn't sound great does it? But let's think about this, your attack is actually +26/+26/+26/+31/+31/+36/+36.
It is also easy to get a few more points out of this, add Haste +1 to all attacks, upping the plus of the weapon jumps all atacks by 2, a Bard with maxed out song gives you another +4 to all attacks (and 6 or 7 to base damage, I highly recommend bringing a Bard, it ups the effectiveness of this build by an order of magnitude). So the max theoretical to hit of this build (without any +2 tomes or raid loot) is +33/+33/+33/+38/+38/+43/+43.

    On to damage:
Base damage doesn't look like much, main hand is 1d8+13, with off hand being 1d8+9.
But, we specifically didn't use +5 weapons in our main attack numbers, so we could get some extra damage here.
Let's define the rest of those khopeshes shall we?

+3 leaves essentially 5 points of bonus undefined (for level 14 non-rr weapons). My preferred combination is holy burst of maiming. (Not that I have these yet.) That is an additional extra damage of ~13 on each hit, with an extra ~32.5 on a crit.

So, damage looks like this using only self buffs

    Main hand/reg hit - 1d8 + 13 + 2d6 = min-16 avg-24.5 max-33
    w/Bard______________________________22_____30.5____3 9

    Offhand/reg hit - 1d8 + 9 + 2d6 = min-12 avg-20.5 max-29
    w/Bard___________________________18______26.5______3 5

    Mainhand/Crit - (1d8 + 13)*3 + 2d6 + 3d6 + 2d6 = min-49 avg-77 max-105
    w/Bard________________________________________67____ _95______123

    Offhand/Crit - (1d8 +9)*3 + 2d6 + 3d6 +2d6= min-37 avg-65 max-93
    w/Bard_____________________________________55_____83 _____111

Now, are you going to have your perfect weapons, no probably not, so drop the damage a small bit and you can see that you will still be doing great chunks of damage to enemies.

Of course with a Bloodstone (Got one of those too. ) and the changes to Seeker coming soon, your crit damage all jumps up another 18 points.

    Now onto AC:

Well, there isn't a whole lot to say here. Your AC is going to suck. Your damage mitigation will be Displacement and Stoneskin, with some Blur thrown in the mix. You have no chance of failure UMDing any of these. Make sure to keep Stoneskin up all the time if possible and use the Displacement as needed for the tough fights, and use your LOH or Heal scrolls for when it goes bad.

If possible, this character should be PermaHasted, as it just amps up the damage output. Use your attack speed boost to augment the Haste (Yes, it does stack) and you can be a true terror damage output-wise. I have had many Barbs ask me what the hell I'm doing to put out that much damage.

    Saves:

Assuming a +6 Cha and Con item and +4 Dex and Wis items saves look pretty good:

    Fort - +29
    Ref - +27 and evasion
    Will - +21

You can always add a Resist item if these aren't good enough for you, but I find that overkill.
